hello! thank you for sharing your knowledge on this channel! i have a question: for verb type 3, the last example word (juosta) seems to conjugate differently than the rest of the verb type 3 example words... i am getting juoksa juokset juoksee instead of juosen juoset juosee... is this how all verbs ending in -sta/-stä conjugate? am i wrong about my juoks__ conjugation?
@Finnish.As.A.Foreign.LanguageАй бұрын
Hi, thank you - the verb juosta (to run) is an irregular verb, so that`s why this one is a bit different. Other verbs with -sta/stä - endings work as usual. For example: nousta (to get up) or ratkaista (to solve). To conjugate them, just skip the two last letters, add -e + personal ending. (minä nousen, sinä nouset, hän nousee, ...) or (minä ratkaisen, sinä ratkaiset, hän ratkaisee and so on ... :)

So also the person’s name has to undergo consonant gradation? Like Pekka-Peka, Mikko-Miko? Thanks
@Finnish.As.A.Foreign.LanguageАй бұрын
Some names do undergo a consonant gradation when we put them into specific cases like e.g.: Genitive, Elative and more. That`s why Mikko becomes Mikon (Genitive case) or Pekka becomes Pekan (Genitive case). More about the consonant gradation here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4DRgpmuhLmli6s
