Munnery is a comedy genius. Let's have more please.

This is fantastic! He could be the absolutely brilliant and well thought out, but there were times Simon could be too experimental for his own good.

It's a sad reflection on our society that it offers no real place to Simon Munnery. Shouldn't there be a king's fool, like there's a poet laureate?

"Cheers, goodnight, and don't go back to your old values." Classic closing line, people who don't get this character probably never met a more-radical-than-thou anarchist or SWP revolutionary twat at uni, its on the money..
@Polemicist04 жыл бұрын
These radically right-on political activists are, nowadays, usually members of either Extinction Rebellion or the Class War anarchist / anti-capitalist movement. I use to vaguely know a girl at university, during the early 1990's, who was utterly infatuated with all this Marxist ideology and other ultra left-wing feminist, politically correct rubbish. Just last month I actually managed to track her Facebook account down, and she, now, apparently holds a fairly senior position for a BlackRock hedge fund.

I think a lot of people pretend to find this guy hilarious merely because Lee admires him. Lee's influences will be varied, and won't always make sense - but for the laymen to pretend this is funny is quite sad. It really is weak - and in your hearts - you know it.
@Weird-City9 жыл бұрын
bob hoskins So what's your excuse then...just a piss poor sense of humour yes? God I bet you are a blast at parties...not so much.
@casasose9 жыл бұрын
Yes, yes weird city kid, that's exactly it. Now you obviously consider yourself to be somewhat of a comedy aficionado - and in YOUR heart - YOU know it, my boy (How pathetic). I can imagine you're very good with the ladies (beat) not! I learnt that from you! Now I myself don't know much about comedy, not like you of course - I know what I like and what I don't like. But when you made that awesome joke about being a blast at parties, I kinda understood you were being sarcastic, you didn't need to finish with "not so much". But that's what stupid and unfunny people do I guess. Something I imagine Simon Munnery wouldn't do?
@Weird-City9 жыл бұрын
bob hoskins Like I said - a real "blast" at parties...NOT!!! lmfao. Boom! I win.
@the98thcent9 жыл бұрын
***** I totally agree with Sir Bob, the "not so much" was pretty close to the "school of comedy" Borat goes to. On reflection, you may agree that adding "BOOM" to your insults does not give them the desired impact (eg "Madam, if you were my wife, I'd drink it -- BOOM!"

@micholly10 жыл бұрын
I don't think that Stewart Lee has stolen anything, and in his book he notes everything that he has taken from other places in the footnotes. But he is clearly very heavily influenced by Munnery and some of his bits do sound like Munnery - i mean his delivery and style.
