I think that the picture on the front door was Mirabel's creation and reflected nothing more than that she was used to her cousin smiling only when she was exceptionally happy or excited.

If Dolores had been as manipulative as you claim, then why didn't she simply arrange for him to propose to her instead?

If Dolores didn't want Mirabel and Bruno connecting, then why didn't she take active steps such as telling Abuela that Mirabel had broken into Bruno's tower to retrieve his last vision, that Bruno was hiding in the walls and recommend actions that would have put a stop to Mirabel's investigation?

The only thing Dolores is guilty of is being quiet when she should have spoken, and she is far from the only one to make that mistake.
