If you er the one who put this together off the raw tracks...good job, friend. I was an active member of the forum when this dropped. There were some KILLER home-made tracks that came out of that, and I think this was my fave. You go, boy!

I was a bit sad that thus was just the instrumental, but as I hear it with the words you just can't take the vocals away. Definitely the best part of the song. Awesome job mixing.

Except that ADTOE sounds quite different from anything they've made over the last decade. As far as I feel, anyway.

honestly this song would have sold if they had written it like this. Not that selling songs means anything to Mike Portnoy. God it is so good.

In respect to your viewpoint, Images and Words is by far one of the purest forms of songwriting ever produced. It is not based on the Industry at all. Mike Portnoy told the band he was quitting the first time because the industry got involved and fucked with DT. He said the band won't survive. They backed off and he continued. The industry fucks everything up, Mike has been clear about that.

Dream Theater may be funded by the industry syndicate, but I've never heard a song that made praise to the Illuminati. I'm a huge DT fan, and they have a very open and descriptive narrative about the origin of their music. It is based on real world stuff. Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, Beyonce; they are openly praising Baphomet. I noticed at the last DT live show them putting pentagrams on the screens a lot. Never before seen in a DT show, I've been to 5. However, DT is a great group.

How is Images and Words integrated with the Illuminati? I'm genuinely curious. I thought Metropolis was a pre-story to Scenes From A Memory, Take The Time about the bands frustration with the industry, and Another Day about Petruccis mother, I think... And Learning To Live about the AIDS crisis. I'd like to hear your take on it

well ADTOE was definently played little on the "safe side" (A fantastic album no less) but i personally think it was so they could see what Mike Mangini could bring to the table in terms of integrating his own play style into the drum parts they created for him, so I wouldnt say they are getting comfortable in a certain style, more or less just being cautious.

But now DT are getting comfortable in their style, and its getting monotonous, a prime example being ADTOE. I think they need to do what Opeth did with 'Heritage'. Stripped down sound, vintage instruments, groove, jazzy elements, other instruments like some woodwinds, and the sitar (maybe? :D).

Yeah and ANTR really had nightmarish bits that will be remembered forever. Unfortunately I wasn't intrigued ADTOE, DT need some major revitalisation.

there are more songs by dt about the illuminati than you know. basically the entire "images&words" album is about them to a degree. take the time especially. listen to just let me breathe, burnin my soul. i mean, i could go on forever.
