Hi Sam just watched your video which i enjoyed! I have just bought an EM1X in excellent condition (like new) from MPB for £699.. it's a bit of a beast! but i love it.. not worried about the bird focusing they're too fast for me! I have found changing the batteries a breeze plus i can charge them in camera via USB C..

@@SamuelRusu Thank you. I was curious what your opinion of the E-M1 Mk III after using it for a while. I love mine. I think the 300/f4 is fantastic, which along with the 1.4x teleconverter makes for a killer combo. Thank you so much for all of your efforts! I sincerely appreciate your videos.

Really not a fair comparison using a 2x TC on the 40-150 vs naked 300 f4. In my experience, the 40-150 is as sharp as the 300. I shoot dual X's for my wildlife, BIF, desert landscapes. I also shoot with Nikon's and challenge anybody to really tell the difference between my X's and the Nikon's. Check my bird album on Flickr using the same handle as youtube. Cheers!

Hi there Sam, I stumbled upon your channel/video by mistake , and boy I was happy, you got yourself a new subscriber, I’m in the process of rebuilding my photography gear , and I was thinking of a Used 1D III and maybe a 400mm f5.6 L lens, but after your video maybe I can squeeze a used OM-D EM-1 and a used 100-400 Panasonic, if I can find in in the same budget then I feel inclined to do it, if not I’ll get more value with the old dslr gear I think. What do you think, thanks for your answer in advance and grat. channel you got , cheers buddy.

I’ve you’re focusing mostly on photos the Olympus is great and lightweight with amazing IS. If you want to maximise high quality video too I’d recommend an apsc or ff mirrorless. I have now moved to Canon R5 and a 600 f/4 for 8k video and 120fps in 4k

Great topic Samuel. I enjoy printing on my small Canon printer. I find that my family members and friends really enjoy getting prints, even if they are not the greatest or the largest.
@bluesteelbass
@bluesteelbass 2 жыл бұрын
I agree, seeing a print is a completely different experience compared to viewing on a screen. I would not have agreed until trying it myself. Canon Selphie (hate the name) was a great experience for not a lot of $$ compared to a proper medium or large format printer. Astounding print quality for the price. Good to learn the whole process of printing on before moving up to the big leagues too. Creating a custom profile for your printer's shadow and highlight levels was eye opening. Printing a black gradient from 0-15 (0-256 for this printer) and seeing where the level becomes indistinguisable, and "crushing" your black levels to that point, made Hubble pictures have inky black backgrounds. Prior, the computer did the black interpolation, creating the patchy gradients that you see with streaming services and compression artifacts in dark scenes. Did the same for whites, and clouds started to get a more 3d effect.

@@SamuelRusu Wow was that the only reason? I'm thinking of switching from full frame to the OM-1
@SamuelRusu
@SamuelRusu 2 жыл бұрын
Multiple reasons but this being one of the biggest ones. Second one is the bokeh (I’m a bit mad for creamy buttery bokeh) which is achievable with m43 but a bit more difficult. Low light performance - the stabilisation in the Olympus cameras is brilliant but I also need shutter speed. Also the size of the camera did not fit well with my hands (I’m a big chap) so while I still can carry heavy setup I’ll take advantage of that

Lots of food for thought in that video, I've only just got the em mark 111 so haven't set it up properly yet as I'm very much an amateur photographer but look forward to learning. I've always used i auto up till now so very nervous about going to manual mode.

Some magical filming there. Gorgeous captures. I noticed - I would take off using some kind of mat to protect my motors from grit and sand. ND filters really only necessary for creating blurring motion in your footage. If the motion is created from flying around I wouldn't be too worried about using them although good to abide with the 180 rule, if you can. If your heart isn't (literally) pumping, you're dead!!!
@SamuelRusu

I was taking photos with the drone hence I needed the ND for experimenting with a lower shutter speed.

I don't think I have done much bumping up teh ISO so I'll try that - for sure High iso and low shutter dark shots give poor results. Congrats on 1000 subscribers - testamen to your passion and delivery ;-)
