Personally, I like this 2025 version. I don't care if it is just a 5-speed, as long as they made the high gear, higher. I had a previous model version SM and after an exhaust system, airbox mod, jet-kit and needle, the bike was quite quick and snappy. One more thang, with this fuel injection, can you imagine when the after-market tuner companies come out with good tunes?! So, let's wait until the bike is actually sold to us common folk and we slap on a full-exhaust system with a decent tune. Don't rush to judgement. The DRZ engine is like the old 350 Chevy of yester-year for reliability, that's a good thing!

I just picked up a 48V and the guy threw in a DNM rear shock. I HATE how it looks but enjoy the taller ride and much reduced sag. I tell myself it doesnt look as dumb with my 175lbs on it. I like the Grom shock idea though.

Depends what you want I have a 149cc kit 150 injector K&N in box filter Black widow exhaust. so the bike performs like standard but just more pulling power. revs are the problem people fit a kit then want everything out of it 149cc I would say is the best size for both reliability and power I still ride mine like its a 125cc 55mph its happy all day long. just don't thrash it.

The 125 wont be coming to the us as far as i know. It will have no more than 15hp and no more than 0.1 kw per kg, because that is the european a1 lisence requirement. So it will be slouch And SWM has been around in europe for quite a while. They where unreliable at first but are quite alright nowadays. They actually addressed their quality issues in a timely manner

Look at the chain motion when u have the bike on the stand at that rpm area you don’t like, when you have the bike on the stand and hit that rpm u don’t like it looked like the chain was jumping a lot like it may have some odd play causing that weird noise. The side profile picture i could see the chain jumping but maybe that’s not it. Worth a look.

seems like a decent buy at $5500. better than the klr300, and we will see if its better than the drz4. I feel like the drz4 is going to be the better handling bike. it's just how much better that is the question. But I may just pull the trigger on the 390 before we can find out. I have an rc 390 and like my ktm's. I just wish they could have brought the weight down a bit. I thought for sure it would be 25 pounds less

i bought a fardriver for my mototec and i bought it because i thought there was somehting wrong with my stock controller because it would cut out and kind of "cog" you could say but no matter how much i tune the fardriver i am still haveinig a problem with the bike cutting out and the volt meter stays on but i have to unplug and plug back in the hall cable wires to the motor and the more torquer i make the back the quicker it cuts out but i havent been able to make it cut out no matter how i tune it so i am afraid it is either the motor or the battery. If anyone would be able to help thank you.

Great content, I very much enjoy your Mototec videos. I was already eyeing a pit bike to upgrade and it just seems like the 48v is the perfect platform to begin with and then upgrade to 72v from there. Glad you finally got that oddity worked out because after watching your videos for months, I was wondering how or what would actually fix it. Electro & Co. to the rescue!!! I absolutely cannot wait to have an Electro & Co. powered pit bike myself! Appreciate your work and keep it going!!! 🤙

OK, first and foremost, clean your bike before you're taking it apart so you don't get bits of dirt, rocks etc within your bearings. Second, remove all bearing pins and completely clean the linkage. Run some grease back into the linkage and install your clean pins. Do not just add grease as he did here, you're putting new grease on top of liquefied old gritty grease which causes wear and tear on the bearings as well as the linkage arm. It really gets under my skin when someone posts a video of them working on their filthy bike, please do it right ffs.
@lexdfox11 күн бұрын
I dont know, dude. I thought my bike was pretty clean to begin with. Where's the dirt?
@MXKID3410 күн бұрын
@lexdfox oil, grease, or whatever is on your linkage, it all attracts dirt, debris etc.
@leyside10 күн бұрын
Bike looked pretty clean to me! This being a Supermoto street bike I wouldn’t worry too much about the method here. That being said, if you really want to do this right then yes you remove the needle bearings where possible, or soak the bearing in whatever de greaser you have, blast with air until dry and start fresh. If you’re meticulous, that’s at the end of the season. Personally I do the full monty degrease every other year; just add grease in between years. One last thing - Honda recommends a Moly containing grease for those bearings. Love your content; don’t sell this thing for the new DRZ - though I’m pretty sure you will.

Even with the 5 speed, I think the drz4sm might be the most middle of the road option. It doesn't have crazy hp or the super short service intervals that come with race bike power. It's also not super underpowered. The transmission is the only thing they missed the mark on, and honestly its forgivable imo.

I'm not certain these weights can be taken as 100% correct, Europe has power to weight legislation in this class and ktm could just be appearing to abide by the rules, experience tells us qouted weights differ wildly from manufacturer to manufacturer. It would be interesting to see actual weights from both ktm and suzuki with bikes from the showroom floor.
