A lot of things made sense to me when i watched it today. The apes being descendants from the genetically enhanced ones on the ship ect but im still tryna head canon the ending. Maybe someone let thade out of the control room and he was able to somehow without a ship leave the planet go back in time through the storm and help take over earth, maybe pericles was smart enough to help fix leos ship but that still doesnt explain how an entire race of earth apes are an on that evolved level just from one advanced thade being there aaargh
