I hear that sound every time in UTC transit center and that other station whenever I am about to go inside a trolley in San Diego.

@SkylineMasher It's nice. Though I wonder why they don't put it at some of the other stations besides UTC and Executive Drive. 12th & Imperial, Gaslamp Quarter, San Ysidro...they could probably do with this audio warning too, given passenger numbers.

@@wlctransit7593 they said they do not do it because passengers might not know if this is the name for for the trolley boarding and they’ll get confused when they hear that.

That's not only the reason why I liked the 2000s, 6000s, and 3000s series of metro trains. because they have the best seat with the shaded panel on the train.

Still much less clear as compared to the New York Subway. If I had to choose between MARTA Atlanta Subway and MTA New York Subway, New York Subway is 10x better than the Atlanta Subway

As a person that is born in New York, this type of announcement is a lot more clear than the MARTA I currently ride on in Atlanta, so this type of announcement always come to my mind every time when a train is approaching the station. Because people hear it much loud and clear in New York, they stand away from platform edge immediately after hearing this message

If you're referring to the sound quality, the speakers on the Uptown Lexington Line platforms at Fulton Street (where this recording was taken back in January 2023) were iffy and clearly needed some maintenance. The Downtown Lexington Line platform had totally clear speakers, meanwhile.

Reminds me of riding the DART when I was younger with my dad. Amazing what one can be nostalgic about. On the rare occasion I ride nowadays, this and the whine as the train either speeds up or slows down always takes me back.

I know that the one who is doing the Spanish has to be Talaya Trigueros. @ the 4:20 mark, she said “…en está parada.” @ the 4:30 mark: “Este es un tren de Metro Purple Line a Union Station.” Also, my friend has recorded the announcements whenever he was riding Metro before moving to Rhode Island over a year ago.

Me too. It was a nice voice too. Our current Spanish is voice is good, but our current English voice sounds like she has gotten tired of doing these announcements. She sounded a little more intrigued back in 2005 when the new S70s arrived and the Green Line opened.
