What would Led Zepplin be without John Bonham??He was a pioneer,a gifted drummer and a genius..Playing "Kashmir" for a roomful of drummers and watch everyone of them air drum to it,including myself..That's a testament..And watching Bonham perform "No Quarter" at MSG in 1973,just phenomenal.🌟

Led Zep needed more of JPJ playing an acoustic piano. He was eternally amazing playing both the acoustic keys as well as the bass.

Right at 5:50... - is the moment where on a first listen through, I could absolutely tell they really start to ramp up the energy. Jimmy starts to interject with his guitar in-between JPJ's accented beat here, almost giving the illusion that they are speeding up, but of course, they're not - they're perfectly staying in their flawless groove.. on tempo. Classic here, how Jimmy and his guitar start to shine - and take the spotlight with his characteristic quick riffs ; fitting in the perfect amount of hammer-ons and pull-offs and of course choosing notes to go to in those insertions that somehow have the effect of making a listeners spine tingle, their bottom jaw fall open agape without their realizing it, and awakening whichever chakra that lives in that hard-to-define place about two inches below one's belly button. Jimmy's guitar work and those spine-tingling melodies he creates in those solos, would not.. could not pop and be so in-the-pocket sounding if Bonham and JPJ weren't so subtly laying forth the most beautiful, seemingly telepathically synchronized, sometimes classical sounding, sometimes jazz sounding groundwork (often called something like 'rhythm section'), for Jimmy to build upon.

What was it with Bonzo’s drum tone?!? I’ve never heard a better toned drum besides Billy Cobham in Jazz Is Dead or Jeff Picaro or Todd Nance…was it technically better, tone, hands or all the above?

These 1975 no quarter jams were pointless and must have been tedious to listen to..compared to the organ based dynamics of the 73 shows, this piano based affair was without substance..as much as I am a fan of zep, 75 doesn’t do it for me
