Hi Raj, I am a fresher with a year of experience in Data Analyst (graduating with a Masters in AI and ML), I am preparing for the final loop for "Solution Architct ISV". For the technical depth and breadth round, what kind of questions should I prepare? Any tips and guidance is highly appreciated! Please reply🙏🙏

Hi Raj, question from an outsider curious about job roles. I see a lot of AWS Solutions Architects enjoying making videos, and Developer Advocates do the same. What do you enjoy about being a SA and creating content? Do you ever think about switching to a DA role?
@cloudwithraj7 күн бұрын
My true calling is being a SA and helping customers migrate/modernize in AWS. I love working in complex customer projects. And that's how I get to see what's happening in the trenches and that's how I share real-world tips and tricks. DA role is cool but they don't work with customers directly. For that reason I won't be a DA. Good question!

The issue I'm having is they suddenly require us to get AWS certifications at work and the courses they are making us do are focused on passing the cloud practitioner exam, which means they're just briefly touching on some acronyms and showing a quick demo of how to do something, but there's never any context about when or how you would need to use that tool. When we ask for more info, they say don't worry about the details at this stage, you just need to know enough to pass the cloud practitioner exam, but it's practically impossible to remember everything or to even know what's the most important stuff to retain. I appreciate your advice in this video to just focus on the specific AWS things that interest me or that are relevant to a specific goal I'm trying to accomplish, but this is not possible at this stage when we're being asked to have a surface knowledge of a very wide range of concepts that are difficult to grasp or understand without context. It makes me want to quit and forget all about AWS, but at the same time I will be a liability at my job if I can't get the certifications they want us to get.

Please tell me about this 6 month buffer period, is it cannot apply for same role within 6 month or we cannot apply for any role within 6 month? Please respond

I have my first interview today, and Raj’s video was incredibly motivating and helped solidify my decision. Thank you so much for providing such an inspiring video!

Thank you so much for the motivation! I'm in the same situation. I'm curious-did you work on improving both your body and career at the same time? Balancing both, along with raising two kids under 10, seems tough, so I've been focusing more on fitness for now.

Thanks Raj for this new update. I am curious , is this new process applicable for internal transfers as well?
@cloudwithraj15 күн бұрын
Great question!! No, internal transfers don't need assessment and full loop because the person already proved they are Amazonian by going through the full loop. Internal transfers consist of tech round, and maybe 1-2 LP round based on manager's choice.

Hi Raj, someone working in AWS told me that the SA phone interview will have scenario based questions rather than Rapid fire (what, why) questions. He said that since my interviewer is a very senior person, he will not ask Rapid fire type of questions. is it true? My YOE is 6.
@cloudwithraj19 күн бұрын
Yes that's possible. What I meant is you won't be asked to design an application in a telephonic round.

why cant the message be published directly TO SQS, instead of SNS-> SQS?

If it's just one queue then publish to the SQS queue. If it's one to many, then use the code to publish just once to SNS, and then fanout to multiple queues like shown in the video.
