Each bike has its own “combination” (think lock) for getting the kicked/ticked over. That’s been my observation. Note to self: Is the petcock petrol/ ⛽️ gas in the On position? 😅

They are good bikes as long as you are realistic about the performance. Mine performs impeccably but does struggle in headwinds and up hills

@@chrisrobinson8980 Good to know! in America I usually have to take a highway to get to the scenic roads, where a 350 putt putt is what I'm looking for. American roads pretty much demand 'big enough to not be buffeted off the road at 75mph'. Lots of long, straight, 60-70mph highways between the scenic areas. I love the design and the character. With all the mods, the bike is a hobby unto itself.

I just replaced my primary case drain plug washer and no more leak. I've got a scruffy 1951 Thunderbird 650 that was/still is painted like yours. Black frame, forks and headlight nacelle but the rest of the sheetmetal is blue. Most guys say they were all blue or all black. What do you say? 🤔 I rebuilt motor and gearbox but keeping paint the way it is. Thank for sharing.
@chrisrobinson89803 ай бұрын
Here in the UK all rigid frame T'birds were finished in blue all over. Some US models were finished in all black as the blue was not popular. A previous owner of my bike changed the colour scheme to T100 spec many years ago. It would be a crime to re paint back to original finish.

@chrisrobinson898010 ай бұрын
No regrets as such. You have to adjust your expectations when riding. I live in a hilly area and the bike does struggle to get up some of the hills into a headwind. I have nearly 3000 miles on the clock now and the engine has loosened up now so it is running at its best. The bike does everything perfectly and looks great.
