Brilliant! I know that bit of the A361 coming up from Wardington into Chipping Warden only too well. The number of times I’ve tried reporting it for them only to patch fill it here and there. It’ll only get worse with all the HS2 traffic as well. Driving in the middle of the road helps - as long as nothing is coming the other way of course 😂

It was very emotional for me to see this video. First of all, because I quite like Old Grey Lady Down. I bought a few of their CD's (this one is my fave). In second, because there is A FULL version of "The Crime". It was the first time (and obviously the last) that the band played the three parts of the "The Crime". Parts I ("The Ballad Of Billy Grey" and II ("The Fugitive" can be found on their debut album accordingly named "The Crime" published in 1994. The third part ("Paper Chains") being released on their third album in 1997. The whole combo here peaks at well than over thirty minutes! A moment of pure joy and happiness. At least to my taste. And finally, because of the venue...The famous London Astoria where so many great bands played like Gen X, Radiohead , The Smashing Pumpkins, The Cranberries, Purple, Heep, Steve Marriott, Nirvana to name a few famous bands that I like. When the place was sold, it was renamed "The Mean Fiddler". I can't tell you the number of times that I passed by in the surroudings of Tottenham Court Road underground station. During my frequent trips to London (for rocking, football or musicals) I was lucky to have witnessed John Cale, Kino, and a festival of Genesis tribute bands. My top favourite prog band (from 70 to 77; if U see what I mean)...). Thanks Mark for having posted this incredible moment....

Vastly underrated and overlooked. I have been a big fan of neo prog since 1982 and this is exactly the music I wanted to listen to in the 90's. I lived south of London and used to see Camel, Marillion, Pendragon, IQ etc etc all the time. The problem is I had never heard of them until the early 2000's. Such a shame their promotion was not good enough.
@markrobotham39224 жыл бұрын
hehe - most people reckoned we were shameless self publicists! ;-) After our first Classic Rock Society appearance supporting Pendragon, I think that the feeling amongst the bands you've mentioned is that we were simply too strong to support them - which is probably why we didn't flag up on your radar! It's a pleasure, Neil! This show remains, and is likely to remain, the last/latest show that TK ever played...
@Sputeen5 жыл бұрын
@@markrobotham3922 that's interesting news, but I shall choose to remain in denial. After all, Big Big Train went 17 years between gigs. You will play live at some point, you just don't know it yet! You will release this next (overdue) album, and the urge to promote it - with at least one gig - will become overwhelming. And if I'm beginning to sound like a bloody hypnotist, I will honestly try anything...!
@markrobotham39225 жыл бұрын
@@Sputeen - hehe - it'd be mainly Amy's arm you'd need to twist, she didn't enjoy playing live. And as for me, I've not even picked up a drumstick for nearly 4 years. As I understand it TK isn't in any way set up to be a 'live' band these days - it's simply Phil, Amy and Thomas collaborating (largely by way of t'Internet) to write and record material. They use regular and irregular session musicians for the rhythm section, which is recorded at Rob Aubrey's - I think the three actual TK members then come together there to piece it together, add the finishing touches and sprinkle some fairy dust on it. Really little chance of a live show, I'd say, therefore... :-(

I'm in the US. The only time I saw them was at ProgDay back in 2002 where the usually outdoor festival was held indoors due to inclement weather. I even met the band and I remember them being pleasant to chat with. It's a bit sad that they will probably no longer play live again.
