I've wanted forever to build my own local-first knowledge base. I'm not smart enough to design a database myself, and have not found hardly any client side databases offering persistence. I really like what I've seen in XTDB, and feel like the Clojure / Clojurescript world has gotten so close to this as they have Datascript and Asami, and if you could sync Datascript to XTDB or Datomic that could be a nice way to go, but while Datascript and Asami both run client side, both are only in-memory. It seems like there have been a whole handful of projects that have started to add persistence to Datascript but none have finished. CozoDB looks promising, but for how amazing the database itself looks, I feel like the developer is invisible, nowhere to be found in the Github or Reddit discussions which is a shame since it is web assembly capable, and like Datascript has a Datalog style syntax. Currently trying out InstantDB for some simpler client side applications with basic relations. It will be interesting if ElectricSQL's new PGLite (Postgres Lite) that runs client side and syncs to a Postgres back end could potentially open up more options as well. While not specifically a graph database, EdgeDB is one that I could see eventually running on PGLite and syncing back to EdgeDB.

Замовив чайник на Алі і поки він їде прочитав купу відгуків, чому там замовляти чайники не можна. Виходячи з цього маю декілька питань: - чи не було в новому чайнику запаху глини (або як хтось писав - "стройки")? якщо так то як ви від нього позбулись? Не дуже добре коли чайник насичує чай глиняним присмаком (або надає йому ноти відра цементу 😁) - чи рівний злив, чи не розбризкує воду по всьому столу? - чи не протікає кришка? чи тримає "водяний замок"?

So if I understand correctly you deploy a cluster of “super box” (I didn’t hear the name clearly) and these serve as nodes that will collect data and overtime incrementally it will collect data about a user for instance to build an accurate persona of the user. Then from this we can create an ai agent that acts in behalf of that user using their personal profile we created? If this is somewhat correct then I like this idea and we are doing something similar so really cool. Question though, how do you get the users to care enough about ssi data to see that it is a problem. From my experience, all of these ideas are great and should be implemented but the question comes, who pays for it and majority of users don’t care or aren’t informed enough to see the value. As always, great thought provoking video

I hear you and I believe in data first too but with you approach, we as engineers give up observability and other things if we can’t control the the entire system. Then when the user complains about lost transactions or data etc, we can’t help but they don’t understand and they just say your app is crap! It’s always a trade off
