They sound way much better in real life. The mic is unable to translate the scale and depth of these. Moreover the video has been compressed and theres loss of quality at the same time. The recording was merely done on a mobile phone and didn't use fancy binaural mics and recording devices. I would highly recommend listening to them in person.

Is the 19’s are necessary? Because beolab 20’s already have a powerful woofer.
@Beoliving6 ай бұрын
For my listening needs yes. The bass from the 19 is agile and produces tight accurate bass. It intergrates smoothly with the 20's. 20's set to wall and 19's on free. This mode enables bass delivery in any position in the listening room. It does not sound directional it just dissapears into the room. I have never experienced such accuracy on bass tones apart from BL5, BL50's and 90'S.

@Beoliving7 ай бұрын
No B&O amp or source was used on this recording. The bluesound node n130 is used as both streamer and preamp. I'm using din to rca cables to connect to the preout section of the bluesound. It works flawlessly.

Do you think it is worth to add a beolab 19? The subwoofer inside each BL20 are not enough?
@Beoliving11 ай бұрын
Depends on your use case. My room is very tricky to get even sound distribution(too much reflections). The 19 seemlesly intergrates with the 20's. 19 delivers bass notes where the 20's fail. The agility of the sub brings a new dimesion to the overall sound.

Thank you for your reply :) I was just thinking to buy a pair of 20. Last question, how do you manage to couple your Bl19 with them? Can I do it through the core?

Did you use optical to connect them?
@Beoliving Жыл бұрын
Yes I did. Daisy chained them and using the bluesound node as a source.
@keanone Жыл бұрын
@@Beoliving thanks! From speaker to speaker, do you also use an optical wire - or is that Powerlink? Additionally: did you also test the analog output of the Node? I am wondering what would sound better (I just ordered a Node X, which has a different DAC, so results may be a bit different).
@Beoliving Жыл бұрын
@@keanone Yes I use optical from the node output to the BL20 in and the then output from the same speaker to the in of the secondary speaker. The analogue pre-outs of the node was really low to drive the 20's accordingly, it produced a poor signal and the beolab 19 sub was way more louder using the analogue method. That's the main reason I went optical on the 20's. However if you get the B&O configurater tool you can adjust the output levels of the 20's to your desired levels. The powerlink would have probably worked if I had a converter (PL to RCA) whether the signal were to be loud or not it's still unknown. Please keep on the loop iro the node x and if it's a worthy upgrade or not. I have since sold the 20's and went back to my old BL5.
