Thank you for the video! Why the significant value does not be devided by 2? since it is a one tail test

also what if I didn't have a z table? how can I figure out the z score?
@dmcguckian28 күн бұрын
The z score is determined from the formula. You don't need a table for the z score. You need a table to find the corresponding probability. Without a table, you either need to use Calculus to find the integral or you need to use software.

Im a little confused on how you knew you could use the bell curve?
@dmcguckian28 күн бұрын
The CLT states that when the sample size is large enough, the sampling distribution of the sample mean is approximately normal, so the fact that the problem has a sample size larger than 30 allows me to assume the bell curve applies.
@Occult_with_Sidhhy29 күн бұрын
It's coming 77% not 7.7
@dmcguckian28 күн бұрын
0.0770 is 7.7%. Also, the whole upper half of the curve can have only 50% of the area, so the answer can't be more than 50% (since we want only a part of the upper half of the curve).

I make up a lot of the problems myself; however, some problems come from old textbooks. A textbook that is a good fit is Statistics by James T. McClave and Terry Sincich.

Is the claim supposed to be Q1^2 >= Q2^2 or just Q1^2 = Q2^2? I noticed in your following video you used Q1 = Q2 as your null hypothesis so now I am confused. Isn't the point of the F test to determine when you should assume that the variances are equal?
@dmcguckianАй бұрын
You always have the condition of equality in the null hypothesis, but you can use >= or <= if you want to too. The f-test is designed to compare variances, and the usual hypotheses are all possible: > vs <=, < vs >=, and = vs not=.

My first time understanding why the probability is 2/3 instead of 1/2, thank you so much for the direct explanation.
@Abusahari012 ай бұрын
The other technique that I learned somewhere: to find the conditional event is to just simply find the combination of getting 1 white marble and 2 marble (yellow or green) and then multiply them with the permutation order. n(1w and 2 other(y or g)) = 5C1 x 25C2 x 3! = 9000 And we use the normal permutation to find all the possible ways: 30P3 I know it's nothing fancy, but I find it fascinating to utilize both permutation and combination at the same time to find a conditional event.
@Abusahari012 ай бұрын
I have a question. The question said that the order doesn't matter, but they don't tell us if the production of the ticket said that the order is not permutation. Shouldn't it be correct that the conditional event is 53C6 and all the possible ways are 53P6? Correct me if I'm wrong on interpreting the question, but I think it needs to be clarified.
