As a new nurse, if I tried to ask a question, then, they would say, you are not competent (even though you are in training). So, I normally ask Google for anything I do not know... Personally, I can see some people are very helpful and friendly, then they can always help. Anyone who wants to criticize you will question your competency anytime you have a question. Then they use the evidence to report to DNS to fire you as a new grad.

Thank you for the video it's so well explained and encouraging. I agree that the population is getting older and sicker eventually more progressive care units will be needed . Progressive care is a very dynamic, rich, and exciting environment because the nurses will assess and monitor closer and frequently the team will also monitor closer and detect any changes in vital signs or telemetry communicating on walkie-talkie to the nurses, the whole team gets involved getting notifications about patients every one becomes alert and quickly respond and because of the level of acuity most hospitals are very well equipped with everything patients need to improve their health. It's above all a very advanced modern learning experience for everyone involved in the unit. It's a team work everyone getting continuously educated with courses to work better and better and getting those many certifications is awesome, it's empowering. The joy of the progressive care is when patients are admitted very sick, very discouraged and they get the best treatment by the team and recover and regain control of their health enough to be discharged.

It's the "patients will be sicker, and stay less" part that really gets me. The rate of of readmissions I've seen b/c the hospital wants to push the pt out as quickly as possible, treat the symptoms but not the root cause, or completely ignore non-chief complaints that may point to a bigger issue is frustrating!

It doesn’t work! My advice is try not to unnecessarily stress yourself out if you don’t get a “good pop-up.” I took the nclex-rn a few days ago and tried this method. I received a popup that said “we’re unable to validate the entered payment card. Please verify all card details and try again.” My exam shut off at 85 questions but I was feeling not so confident, also had mixed feelings whether I did very well or very bad for it to close out at 85 Qs. Lost a night of sleep as well due to anxiety. 😂 Just found out today that I PASSED!!! Keep your heads up and fingers crossed everyone awaiting their results.

The mistake everyone keeps making is not using a real card with actual funds. You have to pay the $200 temporarily until it falls off. It was WELL WORTH IT.

@@striver1987 I used my correct credit card and was charged $200 then eventually got refunded. i also got "our records indicate that you have recently scheduled..." . Is that the good pop up?

I agree with what she is saying in the video. However, if nothing else it sets a bad example to be an obese healthcare worker. And if are giving a patient healthcare advice and you are obese and/or have bad habits such as drinking and smoking, than what is the likely that someone will take you seriously?
@cbl652010 ай бұрын
The answer is that they won’t. In fact there’s a fair amount of literature showing higher rates of patient non-compliance with medical advise from obese providers and nurses and who can blame them? Who are they to lecture us about needing to lose weight and stop smoking when they themselves are overweight and smoke, it’s blatant hypocrisy!
