Kinky sure as hell made his life a great art project. I was verbally attacked by the Kinkster in person at the Highline club way out on north Lamar long ago. I froze at the insult and he got a small laugh from the folks. He then insulted a women by dumping a glass of beer on her in the audience who then walked up and toss a pitcher of beer on the man and the crowd roared it's approval ! As a casual listener and not someone who was taught music theory in school, Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis and Coltrane made some of the most boring, dull, uninteresting music I've heard. Maybe they are the best when it comes to technically making music, but I don't think that translates to the best or most appealing music to listen to.
