I feel like it’s the perfect movie about the embodiment of fate, moving what seems to be aimlessly, but giving the opportunity for the people (and the places, not only of where they are but where they’ve come from) it meets to show glimpses of their humanity. Hidden behind bureaucracy, and ill feelings, you also see glimpses of monuments that bring people together throughout the movie (like the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, etc. hidden behind cookie cutter buildings, not only in reflections, but in advertisements as well). I honestly can’t imagine how these intricacies were mapped and then put to film in the most unforgettable way. Beautiful doesn’t begin.

The unmistakeable and iconic score which is an integral feature of this film is treated like an afterthought in this trailer that doesn’t do this great film justice or convey its essence. A very lukewarm trailer. And what’s with the car engine sound effect over most of the trailer?

Showed this to my daughter when she was around 16-17, as I told her it was one of my favorite movies.. She considered herself "culturally advanced" and "hard to shock and disturb" at that age (internet-hardened, yada yada). She liked to be challenged. After it ended, she looked at me in horror and said, "What the f**k is wrong with you??" LOL Still chuckling ten years later. I think the therapy since then has helped her. RIP David!
