The first half of his boss fight was him showing off his bravado and putting on an act, but as soon as the second half starts his true nature is revealed. A scared old man desperately clinging onto power because it made him feel strong.

I love this game (also the 1st chapter), it's full of baroque religious art and reminds me my country, Southern Italy, that really looks like Spain culturally. If you visit Lecce or Monopoli, in my land Puglia, all the old city centre looks like a Blasphemous level.
