Excellent poem, well performed. Any info on Thomas? I will be teaching a workshop on poetry and self advocacy and I want to share a little about him.

My name is Princess and I've been writing poetry for two years if not since I was 6. First, it was out of passion till people started telling me I could make money out of it. When I realised I didn't know how and I couldn't help my family, I became devastated. I've been having thoughts of suicide many times that even my therapy is not helping with. This poem has given me re-found hope and a part of me that seemed dead has been awoken. I pray daily to rise through these ashes, but I never knew how. But now I do. And I am grateful for finding this poem in time.

I’ve been writing poetry since 2015 and it’s definitely been one thing that’s kept me alive and express my emotions, my poems are so sad though and they talk about depression and suicide, I’m scared to show it to people that can’t handle it but I know a lot of people out there might need to hear it….
