Hi, was this a 1.33x or a 1.55x lens? How is the edge sharpness? Thanks!
@Genshi18 күн бұрын
It is the 1.33. For me, 1.55 is too extreme. As with most any Anamorphic lens, it will have some softness on the edge, but it's not bad and works with that style I am trying to achieve. I've got better footage coming soon!
@mcchris691718 күн бұрын
@@Genshi Yeah, I was thinking about 1.33x myself. Some softness on the edge is expected from any anamorphic lens. I will get one and give it a try. I would love to see a better footage! I subscribed to your channel! Thanks a lot for your honest answer!

Do you still have the Control Forge? How do you like it after years of use? I have 2 Rossum modules (Panharmonium and Trident), and love them. I want to get the Control Forge, Morpheus, and Assimil8or, but am picky about modules with menu diving. Sometimes I gel with them (Ornament&Crime, Disting, Cloud Terrarium), sometimes I really dont (Metron, Bloom). But Goddamn do all those Rossum modules seem awesome based on Demos I've seen.
@GenshiАй бұрын
Sadly, I sold my Control Forge shortly after this video... and completely regret it. I really want to get another one again as it's incredibly powerful. I just can't afford it right now and at the time, I needed the money as well which is why I sold. Wish I didn't though.
@TheSilentCartgraph3rАй бұрын
@@Genshi Ah I understand. I had to sell off my entire hardware setup in 2020 and lost many now rare items. (Monome Arc, many factory Mutable modules etc...) I fortunately have been able to rebuild my setup in a new way over time but I admit I still miss many things. Especially my old Dreadbox Erebus v2. That was the fattest sounding monosynth I ever owned. I made even the Mother-32 sound tinny in comparison.
@GenshiАй бұрын
@@TheSilentCartgraph3r Man, I feel your pain. 202 sucked. I too lost my Monome Arc which I loved! Also lost my ARP 2600, Korg MS-20, and a few other things that make me too sad to talk about... I've always wanted to try the Dreadbox stuff, haven't gotten around to it yet.

Hi! I would like to know if you still use the NDLR after all these years and still find it to be a valuable piece?
@GenshiАй бұрын
Good questions, so here is my honest answer. I was friends with the guys at Conductive Labs so at the time I was technically their first Beta Tester for the NDLR. I still have mine but I don't use it as much because with all of my experience with synths )over 40 years) I prefer to do things on my own from scratch. That said, I do definitely still see it as a valuable piece, especially for those new to music creation and synths/sequencers as it is very simple and yet powerful to use.. And in fact, now that you've reminded me of that, even for us old pros, it was still very fun, so I may just bring it out and do something with it! If I do, I'll definitely shoot a video of it...

is this addititive?
@Genshi4 ай бұрын
Yes, though not the best example. If you search my Channel you'll find much better examples of the Buchla Music Easel. But yes, in general, the Buchla is an Additive synth because instead of Subtracting Harmonics with a Low Pass Filter (as you would do with a Moog synth) you are adding Harmonics with the Wavefolder (the slider labeled as "Timbre" on the Easel) as well as FM'ing the Complex Oscillator with the Modulation Oscillator to add even more Harmonics.

@@Genshi cool, I‘m thinking about building an Eurorack drone setup, maybe with Vhikk X (sound quite close to the soundscapes in this video), maybe a Qpas for stereo filtering, Beads for fx and some modulations (Triple Sloths, LFOs, function generators)

@Genshi5 ай бұрын
Yes, I wanted a CR-78 sound real quick and remembered that Ableton Live's drum rack had these as samples, so I used that and just played the rhythm in manually. I was going to use the DM1 app to do this as it sounds better, but this was all just a quick improvisation in the spur of the moment...
