I love American bars. You can drink as much whisky as you like, and nobody asks you to pay for it

I like Costner, but he has to shotblast a mirror to steal the scene from Duvall.

Let me help you notice an awesome detail: It's a bar in the western movie, and unlike all other movies, not everybody in are gunslinger with visible weapons, shoots and kills every day, any chance they get. Just normal folks, farmers and herders.

I like the banter back and forth between Costner and Duvall but the repetitive going back and forth to Annette Benning gets tired

Let's see, one power-hungry old crook, along with his bought and paid for "lawmen," dominating all the affairs of one town while terrorizing the lives of its citizens. Now, where have I seen a situation similar to this before? I just can't seem to remember. Anyway, I sure was glad to see how the whole situation was worked out so peacefully there at the end.

One of the best gunshots in a film. It's like a cannon going off indoors, you feel the whole room shake when he shoots the bar.

I grew up in the country and went to a one room schoolhouse and raised very old school. I was raised not to be rude and to this day don’t tolerate rude behavior My mom is 75 and she will still jerk my chain if I’m out of line Too bad most of this young generation wasn’t raised this way. With manners and respect

The film is very beautiful, but how did the director forget an error in shot 1.10, where because of the gunshot the glass fell on the serving table, but in the back shot at minute 1.30 , he forgot the pieces of glasses, in the table it seemed clean. It's a big mistake, but I still loved this film.
@saadlaq257410 ай бұрын

"You're men, ain't ya?" That's when your eyes hit the floor as the shame overtakes you. Absolutely devastating line by Charlie. It's a call to arms for all men to stand up for truth and justice. The fight is all of ours, not just for some appointed group. We've forgotten this lesson. Great film.

Between this movie and Lonesome Dove, a lesson learned is that bartenders better not disrespect Robert Duvall.

I would normally say that line, Charlie Wade said every young man should hear that. “ there are things that gnaw at a man worse than dying.” Unfortunately, today’s youth have no idea what it is to be a man and they wouldn’t even understand that statement. 😢

I bartended many years. A good bartender don't put up with that shit from nobody. Hell I've run off bikers. A church key is a brilliant persuader.
