The actual FBI crime stats came out recently, and 5rans people are BY FAR more likely to S/A a child thanany other demographic. Literally over 50× more likely than a man. NOT 50%... 50×... THAT IS INSANE.

Perhaps a virtual zoom meeting that people could click into that would go around the conference to see different tables and events happening. That way people who are seeing it virtually can get the FULL experience as best as they can. It would take time but I think everyone online would appreciate the slow and engaging of each table and knowing what services the city has to offer. I would like that and it doesn't take much. 1 person with a devices hosting the Zoom call. Goes around the conference to each resource table and that way everyone gets the experience of being there an resources are shared online as well. Let me know if you folks need any help with that. I used to work for Mazzoni Center and would love to support you folks! :D

Is there any further information on how tickets/spots will be distributed? I'm planning to go with a small group to save money on lodging and carpool, but the possibility of not everyone getting a ticket makes planning very difficult.

I'm excited to see what happens this year. My first and only convention was back in 2018 irrc. Hopefully there is plenty of evening programing. I might live in Philly, but i don't know that i can take time off work. And I'm Jewish, so same thing: hopefully there stuff after sunset on Saturday :/

It's lovely to see PTWC back, but it's also a shame that this is happening on the same weekend as the Trans Studies Conference...

Please take into consideration those of us that have to otherwise skip an in person only conference! I am low income, so I can't afford to come in person. I really hope you are able to do a hybrid program this year and from now on. Not everyone has the disposable income to be able to attend in person, some of us are disabled/low income/need reliable transportation/have to work/etc.

We hear you loud and clear and continue to do our best to keep and make the conference as accessible as possible.

I wish the conference had an open virtual attendence like it did for the 2021 conference due to Covid. I'm low income and not american so I don't believe I'll ever make it to an in person conference. I also agree the set dates to happen when school semester is beginning is not well thought out, it affects families with trans youth and any adult individuals attending or involved with education themselves.
@jaysampson17329 ай бұрын
We had some limitations on dates, but we do hear you re: more ideal summer dates, and I think there will be some virtual options.

One thing that has made PTWC so strong in years past was the programming for families with trans youth. I was very disappointed to hear that the dates are during what is often the first weeks of school for many youth and families, making it less likely for them to be able to participate. This does not feel like a decision that is prioritizing diverse participation and our most marginalized/vulnerable members of the trans community - our youth. I encourage the Mazzoni Center to consider bringing the PTWC back to the summer vacation months in 2025 and beyond as a way to foster equitable participation opportunities.

Thank you for the comment. A lot of factors played a part in the planning and selection of the date, time, and location for the conference. We appreciate the feedback and will be sure to include this in conversations about future conferences.

Alex Newell is a surprising revelation that leaves many totally amazed, perplexed, hypnotized. She has no rival. Her powerful, beautiful and incomparable voice resonates and will resonate in upcoming Broadway musicals. Alex is talented, sweet, fresh, innovative, disruptive, original. She is a rising star who occupies a worthy place in the cosmos of music and singing. She's the complete opposite of that vulgar, horrible old witch named Patti LuPone.
