@ Nice, i recently dedusted my Logitech X56 and im trying to configure it for WT + VR. Gonna check your channel, do u have some videos with ur calibrations, binds etc?

@ i use 2 saitek throttle quadrants that give me 6 levers and 12 buttons which I use for throttle, prop pitch, rads, etc all the engine controls really. Then I use joytokey app to assign 2 buttons on the TWCS to shift and control so I can have 4 times as many buttons ie button 1/shift+button 1/ctl+button 1 and of course shift+Ctl+button 1. In VR you can’t really use the keyboard as you can’t see it. It’s not so bad in WT as there’s not a lot of buttons required for engine controls, but in IL2 you really do need as many buttons as you can get.

@Avetorro Right now I'm grinding USA tree until I get the F16. I'm using the A10 primarily. Both are my favorite modern jets. Since you use a WW2 plane I'm going to give the grind a break and practice in the BF109 or the F4U Corsair.

@ I love props, saved millions of SL by not going into jets 😝 tbh I bought the first few jets I unlocked…but it was like being back in biplanes at the start of the grind, everyone else had a faster and better plane than me! Then to unlock the next tier I had to buy 3 more planes from the current one, a bill of several million SL. Seemed like a bit of a money pit, and the repair costs were awful back then. I’ve got 53 million in the bank so maybe I might buy a couple now and see if it’s all it’s cracked up to be 😊 But you’ll normally find me in br5 games around 8 or 9pm U.K. time most nights

Yes, you have to use the rudder to counter torque from the propeller. Plane wants to turn left, so steer right with rudder.

Pimax certainly helps see those distant specs a lot sooner, and headons are a bit more successful too. See you up there, hopefully on my side and not on my tail 😉

@@reggiekoestoer1511 just a quick test after the updates to the sim recently and with the Pimax on low settings. Runs ok, better than what I had with the G2 but resolution is a bit too low, will try again with it on medium. I get good vr experience in war thunder with medium setting in Pimax resolution but in IL2 I need to dial it down a bit. Same in DCS

@Avetorro DCS used to be very badly optimized for VR even just a year ago...but recent updates made it better. It may take a lot of tweaking but with your system I'm sure you'll get to a point better than most. These days I can achieve 45-60 fps in multiplayer servers and that's good enough for me (used to be 30-40s or lower in the past)

@@Avetorro yeah, I figured with vrnecksafer software being blocked by anti-cheat. Which is a pity for us with a bigger simpit at home (switching between falcon bms with war thunder here) that doesnt swivel. But with some training I can now get to some 100degree head rotation here :D

@@peterjamesluck it’s fantastic, I’ve only been using it in war thunder so far, not IL2. Need to spend some time on the settings for that one. The built in speakers are really poor though, but visually I can’t fault it. Pimax sent some replacement lenses as I had some distortion, it does seem to have improved that.

@ thanks for the info. Really tempted to just buy it, I only used my G2 for warthunder sim and loved it, not played with my hotas since the G2 died on me - really can’t go back to playing on screen since I tried VR.

@ yes I had to step up from the G2 as it is bound to die on me soon. Had it it a few years now and hp have stopped supporting them. I have a 3090ti and could only get 60fps in WT with the G2, but on medium settings in the Pimax app i can get 72 and a far sharper clearer image in the Crystal Light. It’s a world of difference. If you have enough gpu you won’t regret buying one of these. Default Speakers are naff but useable.

Yes it’s usb and DP connections like the G2, BUT… I don’t need to use the repeater like I did with the G2, maybe it’s the shorter cable? It runs on Pimax’s own app and Pimax XR to get past Steam VR

I need to get some prescription lenses made as the focusing distance is a lot nearer than the G2. I’m told it’s 1 metre? I didn’t need glasses with the G2 at all. Shouldn’t be an issue for young people but for old farts like me, who wear reading glasses, it is. There is still some distortion when looking around which causes me some motion sickness, never had that with the G2 either, once i test it with Clip on prescription lenses I will have a better idea. Pimax have said they will send me some replacement lenses if I think the lenses are at fault. Could just be war thunder as I’ve not used it for anything else yet. It’s a bit cumbersome in comparison and you’re always aware you’re wearing it. Cant fault the image clarity though and the large sweet spot. As with any VR headset it takes a lot of tweaking to get it where you want it.

Well, my friend, I hope your experience improves once you try those Pimax with adjustable prescription lenses and manage to fine-tune those VR as best as possible! @@flawleesvictoryapolok9589 Pimax are sending some replacement lenses to see if it fixes the distortion. But yeah, compared to the G2 the view is very clear and spotting or ID’ing planes a lot easier. The sweet spot is a lot bigger and looking out the corner of your eye is a lot clearer too. With the G2 anything to the side is quite fuzzy as it’s such a small spot. I have War thunder running quite well now at 72fps and it’s great, so smooth and clean. And I guess if you need glasses to read from 1 metre away you might need glasses for it.

@@Avetorro Thanks! Yes, I already watched parts of them. Very well done. But I think "amateur" footage like yours has its place, too. Makes you feel more immersed, if that makes sense ("could have been me holding that camera").

This guy has better aim than 90% of sim players, it's just really hard to get nose on target in full real control.
