So I pulled Manny Machado’s stats 19 years old 7 HR 26 RBI’s .262 BA 20 years old 14 HR 71 RBI’s 51 2B’s .283 BA Holliday is terrible compared to this. Can we stop hyping the Orioles Prospects

I'm pretty much at the point with this season where I don't expect the Orioles to do much in the playoffs unless they do a 2023 Texas get hot kind of run. So, I'm just hoping that the run some of the young guys like Povich, Mayo and Holliday are getting gives them the experience that helps next year.

Great point about trading Norby. Will Holliday be better long term? Probably. But what frustrates me is that the Orioles hang on to these guys like Norby for so long as depth, then in Norby's case essentially panic, trade him and don't get equal value. Trevor Rogers is a guy I have a lot of hope in and have liked, but even just having Norby as a DH now would have helped this year. If he did rake this year that would have added to his value in an off-season trade. I just get frustrated because Elias is always so cautious, then is impulsive aggressive. I wish it was more in the middle

Great points. Everyone forgets Elias was the assistant GM in Houston, this is his first time as a GM . He gets a lot of credit. Some of his moves are questionable

Sloppy start , but ravens had the winning shot to win the game. A toe short of greatness. Need the feature the 👑. He a beast and playmaker Sure we will get the 👑 in the bank home opener. PA pass need to be LJ lethal weapon and with Henry that is lethal as hell. Whatever Monken and LJ gameplan for chiefs not going to be rest of season. And we get to play all top NFL teams on schedule. Can’t wait, no one better then KC and got it out the way with the last chance to win. Oline needs to work and Faalele needs replaced. Roger will grow with playing time so Will Vorhees. Lamar needs the services of a premier sports psychology coach. All the analysis on Lamar, thousands of YTs and podcasts have been wrong all along. It’s not lack of receivers or bad OCs, etc etc. It’s mental, which is why his passing game disappears when the pressure is on. Jordan (MJ) got help. Kobe got help. They were clutch in the biggest moments.

O line issues, most notably Joe D, has me not feeling good. Conversely, Joe D's impact was in July. Monkin v. Spags chess match, edge to Monkin redemption tour. R Smith, Hamilton, J Mad and Humph will be on fire along with everyone else that was on the field last Jan. Orr's first live fire event in Arrowhead against that offensive staff, ouch. We shall see.

Nestor summed it up: they are losing a lot of weapons. Every team has an organizational threshold of what they can afford to lose to injury and still win. The Orioles are at or beyond theirs. What gives me hope is that last year they expended a lot of energy in the middle of the season to overtake Tampa, then ran out of steam in September, like they peaked early. My hope is that they get these hurt players back and peak in October

Burns is 7-7 with a 4.08 against teams over .500. Adley has not been the same since he took foul ball off his hand in late June. Is it his hand or back ? He also looks like he has put on 25 lbs since last year

I trust the Ravens as much as I trust the Colorado Rockies I trust them about as far as I could throw Michael Pierce. Struggle to make the playoffs and one and done again 3 interception s 3 fumble away road wildcard game 0.0 confidence in anything but another choke job😢😮 add Derrick Henry and absolutely nothing else go to skinny injury-prone CB 30 other teams passed on couldn't last three quarters of a preseason game half the starting defense is gone all the running backs that finish the year except for justice Hill again no backup quarterback ridiculous attrition with no quality replenishment huge step back😂

The injury bug tore through the O's as a team. Kremer and Burns are the only 2 original rotation starters playing, and Kremer just came back from injury. The BP and hitting line-ups are just as bad!

Not a defense of the organization but asking average folks to shell out money for sports is tough right now. The economic struggles of the average family are very, very real. If people are trying to decide between groceries and medication, getting baseball tickets isn't in the budget. To ignore that factor is ignoring reality.

With the 3 wild cards, it would take an epic collapse for this year's club to not make the playoffs. Regarding the comparison to 2014; don't forget we had no Manny, no Weiters and no Davis. The ALDS game 1 starting lineup featured likes of Alejandro de Aza, Ryan Flaherty, Nick Hundley and Steve Pearce. I would take Cowser, Urias, Adley and Mountcastle over those guys. Santander > Markakis, Gunnar > Hardy, Holliday > Schoop. Jonesy is really the only better position player on the 2014 club compared to now. Where the '14 team is markedly better than '24 is the pitching, particularly the bullpen. Even before the addition of Andrew Miller, we had Brach, O'Day, Britton, Tommy Hunter, Brian Matusz and in the playoffs, Gausman.

@@primetime8833 bullpen Britton,Miller, Gausman, O’Day, Brach Matusz the bullpen is the most important part of the team in a playoff game the average of relievers used is 3. Nelson Cruz that year hit 40 and drove in 108 by the way hit .271 Santander hits .245. I would take Jones and Markakis over Mullins and Cowser. Pearce had 21 HR’s and hit .290 I hope your right that would mean we get to the ALCS

To be honest, I'm starting to believe more in the pitching than the hitting. I'm tired of hearing on here about how the hitting will be ok but the pitching sucks. Despite the injuries, the pitching seems to be decent, not great, but ok. The hitting seems to underperform 9 times out of 10. It's been that way for 2 months. At some point it becomes more than a slump. Based on the injuries to the pitching staff, I think they have done a good job...considering. But the hitting has no excuse. I get if it was a series or two. But it's been a couple of months with poor hitting. That worries me.

@cwentworth1 I don't disagree about the bullpen at all. I stated that the '14 bullpen was clearly better than this year's version. Also, I agree on Jones, as I mentioned. Cruz had a great year at DH in '14 but don't undersell the production we've gotten out of DH this year. (.835 OPS, 20 HR, 75 RBI so far). I suppose the other positions are up to opinion or preference.

The hitting will never be that consistent. We don’t have any .300 hitters or .400 on base percentage guys. This team will always be streaky most nights we have 5 guys who hit under .250 Judge and Soto hit .300, Betts and Otani hit .300 every top team except the Orioles have a couple .300 hitters
