This is one of my favorite videos of ALL TIME! I live in the east; my closest and favorite NP is the Smokies....but very few trails allow dogs, particularly back-country. I have been 'eyeballing' the trails in the Wind River Range for several years, and am also at that age where I am planning my retirement....which will certainly include a new dog. (God rest Annie's soul) I really want to keep backpacking and hiking until my knees eventually give out. And I want to take a dog! Your video has really inspired me that the Wind River Range and dogs can co-exist! There is hope for us dog lovers, yet!! Thank you!

Same here, Trey. I live in Florida but have done a ton of hiking in the Appalachians. This video was like watching my dream trip!

Which Wenonah canoe is that?
@aaronstark232 жыл бұрын
I believe that was a Wenonah Prism, a solo canoe, Outfitters Edition.

Thanks for this video! About 10 minutes in you’re at a campsite that looks amazing. Would you happen to know what number site that is or be able to share the details of location? We are headed to Cummings soon and what a great spot you had!!

There’s a single campsite at Little Crab Lake, if you’re fortunate enough to land it!

maybe a doggy life jacket versus tying his leash to the canoe when paddling.. If you were to ever capsize he could have problems. Just a thought.

I’ve put a ton of thought into that and came to realize it’s more unsafe for us both for him to not be leashed to the boat. He unfortunately doesn’t have enough self control to not stand up and try jumping over the side, and he’s a good swimmer too and doesn’t need a life jacket. In the event of a capsize my first thought would be to find his collar and unleash him. We’re very careful though and it’s unlikely that will happen.
