I would love to see this trap work in AMERICA. I live in Bradenton ,FL. I made one of these traps and put it in Mullet infested water. NOTHING. I would love to see this work in the U.S.A. If it works live it would shut the mullet market down here.

Yep - just insert them on your favourite plastic - can be re-used over and over again and cost bugger all. I only use them when there is a bit of colour in the water.

Great emphasis on the proper fish handling and welfare of the fish! 30 years ago I used to fish in VIC regularly before moving to Canada, where C&R practice is constantly being revised to ensure best fish survival, while I've seen a lack of it in many OZ fishing shows all these years. This is the first one I've seen that has really impressed me. 👍

Hi REEL IT IN. Love your videos. I know this is an old one, but impressive nevertheless. I'm in Melbourne but a big fan of Mallacoota and when I was there in December I caught a 115cm, 25kg one while targeting flatty (can send a photo if you're interested!) Exciting bycatch! My mates and I were discussing where you caught the second one. My mate reckons it's up on the west side of the top lake but I reckon it's in one of the coves near Goodwin Sands. Don't need any real specifics, but do you reckon you could help me settle the argument? Cheers!
@mialla7511 ай бұрын
Hey mate, thx for the kind words. Would love to see your 25kg Mulloway - Congrats what unbelievable catch well done. I can definitely help you settle the argument. That Mulloway was caught at the end of Baker Bight. So it's bottom lake not necessarily off Goodwin sands. The area from the Narrows, Snapper Point and Bakers Bight holds Mulloway generally around November time. Hope that helps mate. Cheers

It's about protecting the breeding flathead. Quite simple really one would think. Nothing wrong fishing for a feed of fish
@wildlinesau Жыл бұрын
Most fish species prey on prawns and fish which are covered in or have very sharp spines around their bodies. Fish are used to biting sharp prey and being pierced in the mouth that's why they have tough bony plates and mouth structures. Lure fishing often has far fewer instances of swallowing hooks so they are easily removed with as little damage as possible.

Lot of uninformed fishos around, if you’re getting a fish of that size you need to support the belly when holding them up and having them in the water in the net in between getting camera/gloves etc.. The scary thing to think about is how many of those uninformed fishos that have taken those big girls home
