I have that same Flyer 420 shell that I installed a Marx S/R motor in. The box is called a Steam Cabinet. Good purchase.

@@Keith-nm3uf like I said In the title it’s a bay window caboose. I’m not sure if western pacific used this for local service too besides manifest freight I’m pretty sure they did.

@ yes. CP Rail. I am investigating RC for those too. I think a single direction electronic speed control unit will cycle the mechanical e-unit.

It’s an atlas I believe a trainman piece but I don’t remember I haven’t had the box in for a long time though! Not sure if I threw the box away because it was in worse shape or idk.

Marx guy here, stop and go is probably a loose wire at pick-up area. I have an Am. Flyer prewar 420 that`s similar.

@@plunkervillerr1529 oh yeah I did check the wiring for the motor and it seems to be alright everything from the brush springs are intact but I see a lot of heat shrink tubing on though not that might prevent that or not? But anywho a new contact plate will be order soon though and it’ll be connected on and good to go ready for service hopefully 🤞. Also I need to get an American flyer 420 as well for my collection (locomotive only) which I have the tender for it on my other workbench. Thanks for watching!
