Hey! Great video, thanks for sharing. Did going down/up the canyon add worthy views compared to admiring it from the top? (as you'd do on a one day tour? Just wondering whether I should do it for the challenge or for the views (the latter is a stronger incentive for me, as my whole 2 weeks are packed with hikes in Peru!). Thanks :)

Thanks! Uhh good question… I would say going up and down offers you wayyy more perspectives and beautiful views. On the 2nd day on the way back we stopped at the main (best) viewpoint and although the view is amazing I would say it was also limited. From viewpoints you mostly see the top of the hills which is great but that u see everywhere hiking. The magic of this place is the canyon with the trails through it. Only my personal opinion but I would say going down/up is better. Not sure from where are you planning to travel to Colca Canyon but if it is from Arequipa it is quite a long ride just for a 30min stop at the viewpoint. It is something you have to experience to appreciate its beauty. I hope it helps 😊

@@AlikiTravelBlog I see, thank you for elaborating! And I agree, a long ride for a 30min stop (probably even less as they stop for a few minutes in many places!) is not the way to take in what should be a memorable experience. Sorted, I'll do the 2 days one :) just hope that 1 day and a half in Arequipa will be enough to acclimate before doing Colca Canyon now! Thanks again ^^

@@mihail7185 Amazing, you will love it! But yes altitude sickness is serious, I fainted in Bogota when I first landed in South America 😂 and a lot of people especially in Peru were recommending me coca leave tea and a lot of people claim it helps them but for me nothing, no effect. My head kept hurting constantly. The only thing that helped me was Agua Florida. They sell them all over Peru (and probably other countries too), you basically sniff it and it relieves the sickness. So if there is one thing I can recommend to take with you on your trip is Agua Florida. I talk about it and show it in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKTHo6Nred10qq8 (Around 1:30)

My family is from Suriname. Been there many times. I think if you don’t bother people police don’t bother you. Just don’t take off in a busy place. Be lowkey don’t attract a lot of attention and you will be good.

It’s actually pretty safe compared to other countries in the region. People speak Dutch too and you got lots of people with family in Europe.

I'm headed to South America in November, starting with Bogota. I'll be visiting Chile, Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Peru, and Ecuador. Is Yellow Fever vaccination a requirement or more of a recommendation? I mean, do they like stop you at passport control to check if you have it?

I'm not going to Amazon jungle
@AlikiTravelBlog16 күн бұрын
Great question! In general it is more of a recommendation. On borders they won’t ask for it. The only time it matters is when you are traveling to the Amazon or nearby. Because there the disease is still there and you might be asked for vaccination proof to join a tour or enter Amazon area 😉 I hope this helps. Im going back to South America too in October 🤩 our paths might cross!

Hi! Great video! I want to backpack from Belize to Panama in 2 weeks. What route and stopping points would you recommend to me? I would like to fly into each country and also participate in activities that are not to far from a departure location. Thanks!

Thanks 😊 uhhh… in 2 weeks it will be difficult! I would definitely recommend not missing out on Guatemala, it is a true gem of Central America. I don’t think you can squeeze all countries in 2 weeks 😔

How was the food on the cruise? Is it better for sight seeing or was the meal worth it too?? I feel like it’s usually hit or miss on these types of things so would love to hear your experience!

I as a vegetarian will always miss out on buffets 😂 but seeing what was there I think it is worth it. Also trip is 3h so if you want to get the value out of it, you can do 2 rounds 😂 i think good indication could be that there apart from the main food, was amazing cheese boards with different cheeses jams like all proper nice fancy cheese boards. You do not get those on basic buffet. It was nice, was quality stuff 💯
