Can 2 O type parents have an AB type child
@DrWD403 күн бұрын
In simple terms, no. However there is an extremely rare chance it could happen due to other genetic mutations.

for question 5 how did you get 1/2, wouldn't it be 1/4?
@DrWD40Ай бұрын
I think you are correct. I mistakenly simplified 2/8 to 1/2 rather than 1/4. Great catch!

HOOOOOWWWW? hashahah HOW is "a" the middle makes noo sense ?
@ariromerogonzalez361324 күн бұрын
Hi! So I believe this is what was meant: You have the two parent genotypes -> a + mg AND + Rg + You also have the double recombinant genotypes -> a Rg + AND + + mg To find the middle gene, you compare both the parents and double recombinant genotypes as such: Parents Phenotypes a + mg + Rg + *If you were to do a single cross between the two parents (theoretically speaking as this is not what actually happened but just to see what either changed or stayed the same) You get three options: 1. You switch "a" & "+" + + mg a Rg + 2. You switch "+" and "Rg" a Rg mg + + + 3. You switch "mg" & "+" a + + + Rg mg Now look at Double Recombinant Phenotypes a Rg + + + mg Remember: a double cross over will either switch the middle gene OR switch the genes to the left and right of the middle gene during cross over (this can be confusing, I know, especially since there are different ways you can test which gene is the middle). And so in this regard you look for what has changed or stayed the same. Therefore, the first option of the single cross over possible options from the parental phenotypes helps you see that by switching "a" & "+" in the parent phenotypes, you don't get the double recombinant phenotype: a + but rather: + a This allows you to conclude that the middle gene is in fact "a" because that is the one that remains on the same chromosome rather than being moved during the process of cross over. I hope this helps! Here is a helpful video! kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4uZmqeair6nrJo

how can we do a gel electrophoresis for different loci on a single gel 16:45 ? is it possible only if the 3 different loci contains alleles with different length? (as shown in your video where locus 3 has the shortest as it is the furthest and locus 1 has the longest as they are near the negative pole) if the str has almost similar length, do we need to do it like the crime scene gel electropherosis?
@DrWD40Ай бұрын
It depends how similar in length they are. You might need to change the gel concentration and pore size for a finer strand separation to separate those bands.

Since the question asked for phenotpic ratios, i made the x linked punnet square in terms of three phenotypes( 1/2 orange, 1/4 mixed, 1/4 black) and i got the ratio of 6:4:3:3. Although i had to multiply two of the ratios to have the same Highest common factor which was 16. The 4 ratio represent the albino population

If you have the money I’ve found they have a pneumatic nail remover, like a bolt gun that shoots it though and out and a nail puller. Sadly the puller is way more expensive. But a great thing if you have back and knee issues to cut down on bending.

One thing we should consider:Are twin exactly identical on a genetic level or do they have small differences? searching about this some sources claims that twins have 0.02 genetic differences other ones said is 0, taking into account that the separation between humans and some other animals is lesser than 0.8 it can't be said that is a trivial thing
