NICE. No one seems to think to roll the gain back on these. I do on mine (along with some low gain preamp tubes) and it gets very, very Marshall-like. Good stuff.

Nice video , nice sound....Happy you got your amp back, have the same amp as you...What speaker do you have in the cabinet ? is it stock with the peavey Sheffield ? You should try the EVH Celestion ( Greenback ) its awesome

Thanks.. Yes its the stock peavey Sheffield I really like that tone, I do have the EVH speaker in a 1x12 birch cab, to my ears the Sheffield has a warm tone,could be cause the speaker in completely broken in ,i bought it from a metalhead back in around 1996 ish.

How do you not let all the of the strings ring out when trilling with the pick cause I need a lot of gain to pull it off but then it all just rings out obnoxiously

Its been a few years since I had my sound tech training & ran live sound but seems like for at least P.A. gear, it was ideally desirable to have twice as much power than speaker RMS, but not necessarily required, for headroom & clean/crisp sound. I'm not a guitar player but my son is & i bought him a MT15. Does this head really have enough power to get the most out of a Marshall 4x12 cab, or should i stick w/ the 1x12 Randall cab, 65 watt vintage-30 he's currently running & micing when necessary? EDIT: I plan on buying him an Origin as well, as soon as I find a good deal on one.

My brand new one did the exact same thing today led flashed then no power. The fuse looks good though it's not burnt or broken, did your fuse look blown how can you tell?

The fuse looked fine ,that's why i took it to the shop thought it was something serious, only to tell me it was the fuse

Sheffield 5150 speakers. All stock original Peavey 5150 ,played through some pricey cabs mesa etc, to our ears this sounds the best

@@unity5596 The speaker model would be Peavey Sheffield 1200, a 12 inch speaker with 16 ohms each. For some reason a lot of people say they hate them but they sound good to me, especially in this video. I do think (just my opinion) that they don't shine at low "bedroom" volumes - they are designed to be affordable, and to take a lot of punishment. I kind of feel the robustness that lets them live under full-power abuse and frequent transport and still be affordable makes them sound "meh" and fizzy .at very low volumes. If you are going to run them in "quiet" mode, especially with a 5150 (6505) or 5150 II (6505+) head, leave the bright switch off, crank the presence down some, easy on the treble, and if you have an EQ try cutting around the 6.8K frequency for a 1/4 or 1/3 of an octave - start there adn vary the freq and how much of the band to find what works best with your cab and music style.

bummer This fuse lasted like 4 yrs going to carry some extra so when it goes out again don't haft to take it to the shop
