Thanks. I fell in love with it as soon as went into the shop. I swapped my VFR1200F for a R1250R and the X-ADV for the HNTR. The Rebel was the keeper in 2024. I will keep all three for 2025.

I had that Motorcycle too and the weight was one of the reasons i sold it. I had the dct for a test drive and bought the manual one. I loved the design and the v4, when you pull on the throttle even a Cls looks like it parks on the road while overtaking it. But yeah, i wanted something a bit more agile so i got myself a cbf600N afterwards and im not looking back. Just wished Honda would get us a tiny but highly sporty machine like a 500cc either as v4 or straight six that isnt limited to 48hp
@StayAtHomeBiker7 сағат бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I don't think we are ever going to see another V4 from Honda. The Yamaha XSR900 GP looks the best of the 2024-25 bikes in my view.

I have similar issues pushing my Honda Blackbird around. I lost balance pushing it around and had to softly lay bike down. Now I sit on the bike and use engine to move bike around if there is a slight hill or slope. Much safer for me to handle. Also sit on it to move off the centre stand.
@StayAtHomeBiker7 сағат бұрын
I did work out a way to move it around, but in the end it is just too heavy and sold it on at the end of 2024.

Hi Brian you may have already thought of this but I use a metal turntable for my tracer 9, so ride in my garage turn it on the turntable and come out forward. Two point's you need a centre stand and be able to lift the front wheel by pushing down on the back of the bike so you can rotate it, easy on my tracer but not so easy on my 1050 vstrom.

I own a BMW K1200GT, I believe even a bit heavier. Moving it backwards out of the shed I always do it sitting on the bike. You do not feel the weight so much and you are actually in total a bit narrower as you are not standing next to the bike. Moving it forward is easy, after all it has an engine... And, as I never use water to clean my bikes (as water equals rust), I do all my cleaning inside the shed.

@mikem26523 ай бұрын
My comment is very much after horse has bolted. Whenever I use a side stand, before doing so, I engage 1st gear, clutch out roll forward to take up slack in the chain or shaft drive. Once the bike will not move further forward, then use the side stand. It won’t fall off the stand. If you leave it parked that way, if another motorcycle behind is being taken off the main stand and hits your rear wheel, your bike will remain on the stand as there is no slack for it to be pushed forwards. I hope this makes sense, well done picking it up though! 😊

I'ts always a shock when a bike over balances, it's proper panic stations, it's natural to try & save it, but ideally get out the way, avoid injury ... Bit silly having a kid around during the lift, if you'd failed to get it back upright, the kid could easily have been badly hurt ...

Good job! One question: why did you not put it on the center stand? Much safer when you have to loosen the wheel nuts. An impact driver is not a bad idea either. I have a baby VFR (750F) and an 1150GS, using the impact driver to undo the wheel nuts is a piece of cake. I have an electric one with a cord and they are fairly inexpensive.

Being DCT you can't put it in gear to get leverage to slacken the nuts.

Last few days with it. ~£2K valve check service is due. Dodged that and traded my X-ADV and VFR in for a BMW R1250R (242kg). Once I tried the BMW it made it clear how far technology has come since the VFR was launched. How poor the VFR suspension is in comparison to the BMW. Owning the VFR has made me a be a much better and more confident rider. Fantastic bike.

Lovely bike....I have it's adventure-styled brother, the vfr1200x. One tip I can pass on is never put a bike away wet.....water in all those nooks and crannies that a drying cloth won't reach...it's just asking for corrosion to set in...ask me how I know! I invested in one of those hot air pet / bike dryers....about £60 on Amazon. They work extremely well at removing all traces of water from a bike.

Been there many times and hat's off to you for managing to get it up, doubt I could. I'm not as confident as you wheeling bikes around, I tend to mount them (Fnaar Fnaar!!!) and paddle, well past the point of bothering about pride. Not a criticism but why didn't you try to loosen the nuts and/or remove the wheel with the bike on the centre stand? I only use the sidestand when I've have no other option. I've had bikes topple when they dug in, had a fallen rider's bike skid into mine and topple it and had them snap on me. I just don't have much faith in them. Well done and good to see minimal damage done: from another ancient Scot, who's probably too old and should know better

I’ve dropped several of my bikes over the last 45 years, which wasn’t too big a problem when I was younger and bikes were lighter. I’m 63 now and a few weeks ago my R1200RT went over in a Starbucks car park. My initial reaction was ‘get it back up before people see you dropped it’ but then I thought, ‘what the hell, it happens, give it some thought’. Fortunately the driveway to my garage is flat so I don’t have manoeuvring issues but I’ve seen other people running the engine and slipping the clutch to move bikes around, either walking next to the bike or astride it. Have you tried that tactic?
