Thank you for educating me about art. I never took it in school and for almost 60 years never really appreciated it. I became a potter a couple years ago and I am passionate about art now. Great pots

Sarah, your instructions on lid fit are great but I swear I have lids that shrink differently than the pot, ( yes I take the clay from the same source). So frustrating. Excellent instruction on spouts.

Hi Sarah, I always enjoy your videos. If you continue doing these live streams, may I suggest a microphone? Your voice fades in and out as you move closer and further from the camera, especially after you turned the phone around. Still the content is worth it. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

I see that where ever the waz resist was applied the khaki turned red. Can you tell me why? I'd like to duplicate this but suspect there is some elements of the recipe that I need to get right.

Been a potter forever and almost always attach and pull from the top, similar to that. My handles never break and I bet yours don't either. Thanks and nice work!

I see the "channel" in the bowl to set the slab in. Do you need to do additional throwing to join the two pieces together. I LOVE this!!! Thanks for sharing

This is so awesome!! The different moistures concerns me with the clay I use. Do you have grog in your clay?? Do you show how to make the base and start this project? I absolutely love making leaf pieces so this is just perfect!!❤

@@CynthiaEmbry A cone 6 clay body will be just fine. Just start with a stoneware because those clays tend to be more forgiving. Have fun!

do you add anything to your slip?
@sarahwellsrolland5097
@sarahwellsrolland5097 Ай бұрын
Not really. Sometimes I deflocculate it to make it thinner so it's easier to screen but then I flocculate it back to the thickness I want. I don't thin with water as that increases the shrinkage rate of the slip. This can really be an issue when applying thick slip.

I fire to cone 6 and have been messing around with different clay bodies, Little loafers. dessert buff , moon white , ( exactly what you suggested NOT to do ) and now that High water will not be available as my supplier , I am wondering if you have a recommendation for a good cone 6 clay that is soft to throw and alter ?
