Interested in purchasing. Aquiares website sells in 4 packs but no information as to ounces per pack is provided. Does anyone know? Also, I am assuming it's the beans, not ground.

I found that pre-damping the grinds made a huge difference. I also turn the heat off as soon as it starts to bubble through, and just let that process finish with the latent heat, taking about 30-40s. I found cooling the pot didnt make much difference for me, but I use quite a small mokka pot for one, so it will have a higher surface area to volume ratio than a larger pot. Also, and this isnt an issue with a small pot as it all ends up in the same cup, but for a larger mokka which makes more than one cup, stir the brew before pouring or I found that one cup was waay stronger than the other.

How many Kg per roast load, would also be interested in seeing the computer graph of this roast, very much appreciate the commentary and particularly the "whys" for the target. How many "experimental" roasts does it usually take to achieve the "ideal" profile and do you do smaller batches for that? If so do they scale up easily? Does the grower get feedback?

This was delicious from the first cup. Once I’d dialled it fine enough to knock back the slight notes of overextraction, it was absolutely delightful. My first Carvetii coffee, and just finished my last cup of this, but now I have Solitude being delivered. I think I’ll be working my way through this roastery’s full range, and it’s the first time I’ve actually considered a subscription!

When there is an eruption of light coffee, it is a sign that the water has washed away enough coffee to pass freely and simply release whatever pressure is left. Light, almost watery coffee at the end, this is evidence that the coffee has already been washed and is simply being re-extracted.
@andrewhead21828 ай бұрын
That looks like there was quite a bit of static. Is there a plasma generator in this unit?
@carvetiicoffee8 ай бұрын
There was some static build up which might settle as the unit gets used over time. I have no idea whether there is a plasma generator in the unit.
@HMohamedk6 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, some statics are caused by the lack of a plasma generator; otherwise, the static would not occur.
@obsessedcloset26384 ай бұрын
“Some” who are you kidding. And no the static won’t “settle” over time it’ll just build up. And what’s even more crazy is that’s the static generated on filter grounds. Imagine what it’ll be like on espresso. 😂😂😂
@EggyPlayz982 ай бұрын
It’s really hard to put a ionizer/ plasma generator in the EK since the nozzle is so long so if they put it at the top the waves wouldn’t be able to reach the end of the nozzle. I’m not a pro at that stuff so I’m just making an assumption. I might be wrong tho
@ChrisLivsey-dn6rz8 ай бұрын
Looking at the "short" you posted there seems to be lot of static attracted to the outer delivery pipe, is that an accumulation or on each grind I wonder? If using single dose loading why not use the water spritz to reduce that, and how is that inner delivery tube working to reduce this, or is it not? All questions for the upcoming review post I hope despite this being out of my price bracket by a about a factor of 10 🤣 It would also be interesting to look at the accuracy and precision of that displayed grind size, does the burr come zeroed, I presume so, but then is it resettable I wonder and is that actual size really relevant, it looks good but could equally a number on a scale of 1-1000.
@carvetiicoffee8 ай бұрын
There does seem to be a static build up though less than my standard EK. To be honest in a commercial environment I personally would deal with the static and not worry about spritzing the beans. I have a feeling it might all settle down a bit once the unit has been used for a while. The burr can be reset. We manually adjust to touching and then recalibrate. This will need to be done periodically as the burrs wear. From a commercial point of view I’d love one at the Roastery as we typically move between 11 or 12 coffees at any one time, so the library mode would be very useful. Would I buy one for home use - no!
@ChrisLivsey-dn6rz8 ай бұрын
With luck the library mode will trickle down to domestic machines. For many years than I care to remember I have used an Iberital grinder which was marketed to small commercial use as a second decaf or small volume grinder, domestic grinder I have looked at seem to much like a play toy so I'm always interested in the commercial lines. Checked the plate and it was bought new in 2006 😱 and the parts are still available, I just replaced the delivery chute which had cracked, usable still but cosmetically annoying. Maybe I have had my money back?
@carvetiicoffee8 ай бұрын
@ChrisLivsey-dn6rz not bad if you’ve been running the same grinder for 18yrs. Ever changed the burrs?
@ChrisLivsey-dn6rz8 ай бұрын
No, not yet 😇 It's hard to find figures for none commercial machines but commercial seem to show, as I would expect, larger burrs last longer say 1,500Kg, 1,000Kg for smaller burrs. I use around 1 to 1.5 Kg a month so 12 to 18 Kg a year, a max of around 300Kg through. I've seen 500Kg quoted for smaller "domestic" machines, 38mm, I think though that the bearings etc would probably need attention by then as well so retirement after a life well lived? @@carvetiicoffee

How does Anfim Luna compared to Fiorenzato F64 Evo Pro..your pick?
@carvetiicoffee8 ай бұрын
I’ve used the Luna a lot and the Fiorenzato occasionally as some of our customers have these grinders. Personally it’s the Luna for me. I have never really enjoyed using the Fiorenzato. It might simply be a Android/Apple thing as I’ve been using Mahlkonig products for nearly 20 years (mahlkonig own Anfim and have updated their products to match their own styling).

I am looking to upgrade from my Sage Oracle Touch as recently the shot production is all over the place. I keep the beans in a airscape container the machine has been serviced and the upper burr grinder replaced as it seemed dull after 3 years of use. I am looking at going back to a separate espresso machine and grinder. I am looking at the Rocket Mozzafiato or the Cronometro type R is there much between them or is it just styling. Also I might just buy the grinder at first and wondered which one you might recommend or should I buy both at the same time. Sorry for the long winded message.
@paulstafford83989 ай бұрын
I’ve just replaced my old Giotto with a new Mozzafiato. They are identical inside and sell for the same price. It’s just a different look which is personal taste. I have also bought a new Mazzer Mini E grinder to replace my 10 year old grinder. Early days but very happy with both products. I do firmly believe that if you’re buying a machine like these particular Rocket ones it’s essential that you get a good grinder. Otherwise you’ll be disappointed in the output no matter how good your espresso machine. My other expensive hobby is home audio and the same principle applies. You’ve got to match the quality of your speakers to the amp.
@carvetiicoffee8 ай бұрын
With regards to rockets the term mozzafiato refers to the body design which is more square than the Giotto which is angular The cronometro refers to there being a shot timer which I think is essential Then type R is a reference to the rotary pump which is standard in commercial machines as opposed to the type V which you get in commercial machines. I prefer a rotary pump but it will come down to budget. Hope that helps clarify the models
