If I want to use briquettes over a campfire/ to get that BBQ flavor, I wouldn't be able to use this grill then because the briquettes flavor wouldn't come through would it?

I bought a heavy cast iron grill at the S A for a dollar. It looks like yours, but it has no name brand, nothing on it. It's super heavy, though,so I believe it's cast iron. I suppose I'll have to season it. I wanted to buy carbon steel Chinese woks for Electric stove, for Christmas but apparently we can't use any acidic foods in it. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks so much for sharing this. ❤

Everyone is saying how "great" this video is so let me play devil's advocate... No cooking times (even approximate) are given. No internal temps given. No info given on how to tell when the steak id rare, medium, or well done. This is actually a video lacking in information. Much better vids on this exist!

Slapped that meat on the cast iron grill plate sitting on top of the ceramic range top. If you do that at home, your warranty will be voided when your range gets cracked.

drowing the steak in olive oil defeats the purpose of the steak flavor...it tastes like burned olives instead of meat!

That wasn't very pretty looking. I'm sure it tasted good but it didn't look too good. I like basting them with butter but it doesn't look like you can do it with a grill like that. So if you put the butter on while it's resting do you get the same taste as you would if you basted the butter?

Not sure what the point was here. You hyped the click bait cast iron angle in the thumbnail, but gave no information about grill prep, temperature, or searing durations per side. If this was an instructional presentation, it totally missed the mark. If it was a marketing video. I still have no idea what the butter or variety of oil product was that you used. Finally, butter needs to be applied to a hot piece of meat (no pun intended) or at the very least, the butter needs to be room temperature in order to effectively enhance the flavor. From the looks of yours, either you took it straight from the 'fridge, or you waited until the steak had cooled beyond its ability to quickly liquify the butter, so that it better permeates the steak. No wonder my man thought he was spooning up a bite of potatoes! [Laffin'😄]
