Do you just hook this straight to your computer? I'm getting the Kali 8's...do I need an audio interface? I also have a sub plus I'm getting a pair of mix cubes..how do I hook all this sh*t up lol.. Do I need a monitor controller..I'm lost as hell
@supadave42216 сағат бұрын
Yes you plug the USB directly into your computer, You would need another interface if you get the cheaper model he spoke about with no inputs. This only has one set of balanced outs so you can only use one set of monitors at a time if you use a monitor controller you may end up changing the color/tonality of the signal you get from the RME. Hope this helps bro
@ThePhotographyPivot16 сағат бұрын
@ thanks I'm thinking about getting the R..my current set up in the symphony desktop...kali audio, sub..Focal alpha 80 and one mixcube routed all thru the Drawmer...I want to add it because I want to bring the Kali's out more since I mix on those...what's your suggestions..
@supadave42216 сағат бұрын
@@ThePhotographyPivot Honestly I'm thinking of getting the cheaper model without the inputs for the same reason you are cause I have the Kali's IN-8 V2's as well and want to maximize the imaging and bro said the cheaper version sounds the same. Since you already have the Apogee I would get the cheaper RME model without the inputs unless your using it for mastering cause you can just create an aggregate device on your mac with the audio midi utility (its not hard) so you can use the inputs of the symphony and the outputs of the RME at the same time in your DAW.
@ThePhotographyPivot15 сағат бұрын
@ where does the Drawmer come in...I have all my monitors going out of it...I really appreciate you!!
@supadave42214 сағат бұрын
@@ThePhotographyPivot I wasn't familiar with the Drawmer so I looked up the reviews on Sweetwater and someone said that unit rolls off the top end meaning if you use the Drawmer with the RME you will likely sacrifice the quality of sound from the RME. In order to get the most of the RME you would want to ditch the Drawmer and plug the Kali's directly into the RME with high quality balanced XLR cables.

Hey Ju1ce Audio! How would you compare the two setups 1. Kali in8 + WS-6.2 2. Adam a77h Thank you, cheers!

Great video, I love your B-roll and editing! How would these compare to the older Neumann KH120As, which used go for the same price? They're a smaller 2-way design more comparable with the IN-5s. Undoubtably much higher build quality, but the Kalis have that 3-way design.
@ju1ceaudio6 күн бұрын
I feel like the 3 way design is always much better. After going back to 2 way it sounds like a hole in the quality of the midrange.
@ju1ceaudio6 күн бұрын
And thank you bro! I love filming and editing so i appreciate it.
@josuastangl71406 күн бұрын
@@ju1ceaudio Interesting, so you would place the IN-8s above pretty much any 2-way design? The Kalis are kind of the only 3-way option, especially in a formfactor/size comparable to the IN-5s, until you’re willing to spend multiples more. What pulls me towards the Neumanns is that they’re super established in the industry. I know quite a few professionals who either worked on the KH120s or still use them in their Atmos builds or for other purposes. I see them everywhere here in Germany and have worked on them a few times, just never owned a pair. The Kalis are more than a decade newer, but all I see is raving (mostly paid) reviews without direct comparisons to more higher end monitors. Maybe I just have to buy a used pair of KH120s and order the IN-5 or 8s from Thomann and then see for myself. Then either send the Kalis back or sell the Neumanns again.
@ju1ceaudio5 күн бұрын
The In-8s are the best use of cheap drivers basically. There are 2 ways that are faster and more accurate but the 3-way coaxial specifically is probably the best design for speakers. Keep in mind ive used these cheap ones to super expensive atcs and ive found the kalis are really nice.

If you still have access to this mic can you do a test with the sony c80 mic please? A lot of people compare the 800g to the c100 or the c100 to the c80 but 99% of people misunderstand the c100 isnt modeled after the 800g but its supposed to be its own thing for realism. HOWEVER, even less people know that the c80 is supposed to be an as close to possible sounding successor to the c800g. So the only camparison videos have been irl testomonials with sony so no uploaded audio for comparison. And sadly most KZbinrs on a c80 budget cant get in the room with a c800g. So theres def no vids on KZbin with the two.

How am I supposed to connect my Left and Right RCA/XLR outputs into ONE RCA/XLR input??? Why didn't you mention that? Oh, each speaker get one input, I think. So you need long cables. There's no speaker cable involved, or a proprietary cable like the LP UNF. Would be nice if you could bypass the amp, to test/use your own.

Sorry Compadre... this comparison makes little sense, recording the speakers doesn't really help us to assess how they really sound. Of course I can hear that the Yamaha is more defined in the mids and highs and the Kali reproduces the lows better, but what use is that to me? Even if you own the Yamaha, that doesn't help, because then I would think the Kalis have zero highs and mids... Then I would rather have a detailed description from you of how you experienced them. Your song is dope though
