nice, how expensive is this/karting championships? i want to get into it in my early 20s with little experience other than sim racing, thoughts?
@superkartwaldo7 күн бұрын
The Kart can cost anywhere between 3k second hand to 25 k for a new one approx, entry fees to meetings approx £350.00 plus fuel and tyres. It becomes more costly the more yo want to win ! 😁👍

Back in the 80's I only ran two races with my 100cc lay down enduro kart at Watkins Glen and Pocono. The Super Karts went by me so fast they were just noise and a blurr. Well to be honest most karts passed me. hahaha. Was great fun though.

Great to see some SK's! You were all over 2nd! Shame about the clutch. They expensive to replace? I raced KT100 back in the day, horstman clutch, about $800 here in NZ.Early 90's.

What is the reason for a new chassis? Is it the same spec as your previous? Do they only have a certain lifespan?
@superkartwaldo6 ай бұрын
Hi, the chassis is the same, I’m not sure about life span as there are some pretty old ones out there still quick, buy things like track rods, couplings, bearings all wear and body work looks a bit tired so it makes me feel better being on a new one after 3/4 years. 👍

It’s a little hard to tell what you are doing. If you are further tightening the chuck until it clicks, then that’s correct, when you tighten the chuck further until it clicks and you can no longer turn it you’re engaging pawls In the chuck which remain engaged until you loosen it. There is a myth going around that if you tighten the chuck as far as you can with the pawls clicking and then back it off one click, you’ve locked the chuck but all you’ve done is disengage the pawls and your drillbit is probably going to come loose at some point. Den of Tools looked into this myth with several tool manufacturers and reported it as false. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIDSXmBqeM9rgaMsi=ko3rpcccqP253Zhk

I'm not surprised that it's new to you. Since you just started using keyless chucks.
@superkartwaldo6 ай бұрын
No mate, I’ve been using them for longer than I can remember ! So I’ve had a lot of comments saying that this is rubbish !! Do you think it is correct what I’ve suggested ?
@valentinassabaliauskas9136 ай бұрын
@@superkartwaldo I've started using cordless drills back in 20th century. And when click chucks came out I used them since. You using them correctly but with extremely fast stop drills now days get loose anyway. So no matter what you should check if it's tight constantly.

I have an old dewalt that has a ratchet locking chuck, really good.
@bills60936 ай бұрын
Hopefully you will put out a correction vid. Or at least a clarification vid that you think this only works for the chuck in the video. Putting out largely incorrect videos, even if you think the idea works for you, will lose you viewers. For nearly everyone who actually tests this, it won't work.
@superkartwaldo6 ай бұрын
Well quite a few of my mates have tried it and believe it works better than the normal method, I have said in lots of comments to other posts that maybe it isn’t a definite fix and may not be correct, however, I am using this method and lots of people are, but people can make up their own minds just like you have. 👍
@fredmercury13146 ай бұрын
It's not a problem I've ever had. I guess I just have mysteriously impressive grip strength, allowing me to tighten the chuck like a real man.

I’m really enjoying the banter and thoughts of everyone, it works for me and a few people I know, even more interesting is it’s getting views and comments and that is what I need for the channel ! Have you watched any of my onboard vids of superkart racing ?
@and7barton6 ай бұрын
If the chuck has a central screw deep inside it, it can be possible to remove it and replace with a proper keyed chuck. I've done this with one of my drills. I'm by no means certain if this is universally possible, but it certainly worked with one of my drills, which was a keyless full-size mains drill I'd stupidly purchased without checking what kind of chuck it had.
@superkartwaldo6 ай бұрын
I’m sure you can change from keyless to chuck key chuck if you so desire 👍
