Fasting NEEDS to be accompanied with TRUE repentance which is a sign of true humility. It's important to examine our hearts to know whether our repentance is genuine or merely for show. Acknowledging our SINS are always before Yahweh. Ahab's account is a reminder that SIN has consequences, but repentance can alter the course of those consequences. Understanding that God's mercy is greater than our SINS; He is willing to forgive when we genuinely seek Him. True repentance can lead to restoration, no matter how far one has strayed. Manasseh was taken captive by the Assyrians, which led to his repentance and then his restoration. Fasting was used a spiritual discipline that Daniel which cause him to humble himself and focus on God, often associated with repentance and seeking divine intervention. The lack of repentance during a fast makes the fast pointless. How can you orchestrate a public corporate fast without repentance? What was the common denominator of all these verses mentioned? Sin, transgression and inquiries. Partial truths are lies the Bible says. Remember that rebellious people won't repent until the Holy Spirit convicts them, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. What "servant" of God does not call His people to repentance during a fast? Remember the wrath of God is against the sons of disobedience. Could we ever get tired of repentance? Jesus continually called His people to repent. Altars are polluted by a lack of repentance because people still offering bodies with impurities in their heart due to spiritual blindness and spiritual hardness of heart. The power of repentance is vividly illustrated in the account of Nineveh in the Book of Jonah. The Apostle Paul emphasizes the importance of repentance in the life of a believer. Repentance is to the process of salvation, as it prepares the heart to receive God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ. The power of repentance goes beyond the initial act of turning to God. It is a continual process in the life of a believer which causes true spiritual growth and maturity. THIS IS A SERIOUS CONCERN because it lacks of the POWER OF REPENTANCE! Especially during a fast.
