I'm shocked, (and bit angry,) that ONE DAY before this so called deadline (that I'm not even sure is being enforced anymore) and I'm only now hearing about this. I had no prior knowledge of this and I manage a couple LLCs for myself and friends. Like how on earth was I not made aware of this? How did they even expect people to learn of it? And the penalty is rediculus, especially if I ended up never hearing about it and got penalized unknowingly. I make very little money from my LLC, so how do they expect anyone to even afford that? I'm just miffed.

I’m not sure your current circumstances, but you can reach out to their customer service and they’ll explain everything you need to guarantee you get an ein and business bank account with them.

State and EIN fee is yearly or one time?

Those are both one time fees. Most states will have you submit an annual report and pay an annual fee. You can do that on your own or pay a service like Northwest or Bizee to take care of the annual filing for you.

I just canceled my entire order with Bizee. Everything was fine, and then I got an email requesting me to prove my identity. Excuse me? I am not starting a firearms, adult entertainment, or high-risk business. They not only wanted a photo of my ID (passport, driver's license, etc.), but they also wanted a second photo of me holding the ID, and then they wanted everything sent in PDF format. I cancelled. If you are going to pull ridiculous stunts like this, tell the consumer first. Absolute waste of my time. What I did was send a scan of my passport, which I already have, with the request to cancel my order. Oh, and my LLC is a health-related business. Nothing sketchy.

Yes, you can create an S corp or have your LLC taxed as an S corp. This can help with taxes, but only makes sense after your business is profitable, in the range of $50k-100k/yr.
