This is the kind of information video I was looking for dual rate using the pot S1. Thank you Though I do not understand break value part, is it that you are setting up without reverse ? ❤
@D20MCK7 ай бұрын
We don't run reverse in GT12. The adjustment on the brake lets you change the force of the brakes. If I was to run 100% brakes on this GT12 car it would be like pulling the hand brake and it would lock up the rear axle. Turning it down gives more control on slowing the car down, on this I've set it to 80% so I'm only getting 80% of the force on brakes, it'll slow the car down but not lock up the rear axle.

Thanks for asking this question. I’m looking for an equivalent to drag brake adjustment and I thought this was it. He doesn’t use reverse so I can’t use this setup. I see a Slowdown option…guess I’ll look into that as a drag brake.
@D20MCK6 ай бұрын
@@DanPRC what do you want the drag brake to do?
@DanPRC6 ай бұрын
@@D20MCK I want to be able to coast to a stop instead of being so abrupt all the time. Mainly for faster vehicles. And I still want reverse. I see that the SlowDown function can do this but I’ll like it to be adjustable from a knob or have each Drive mode with its own setting.

I'm new to RC cars... i understand why you would want to do D/R with throttle, but what scenario would call for dual rates with steering?
@D20MCK7 ай бұрын
It really depends on the track layout & level of grip at the time. This car I race indoor on carpet, the first round of qualifying is usually lower grip as the meeting goes on the grip level gets higher. So at the start of the meeting you might need 80% steering then down to 65%/70% if the grip really comes up. This Sunday I'll be racing on a smaller more technical track with lower speeds on the infield that will definitely need a higher steering rate than my local track.
@funeralatpizzahut7 ай бұрын
Thanks for the detailed reply. That makes sense
@wasa77 ай бұрын
I do speedrunning. So you want full steering when taking it down to the start point but I run around 45% when sending it full pelt..
@D20MCK7 ай бұрын
@@wasa7 putting the steering rate on a dial would be perfect for that.

@@D20MCK yes that’s how I have it on my Futaba and RadioLink. Thanks to your vid I now have it on the Mt12. Again thanks for taking the time to do this but one tiny suggestion, if you you could show how to do one function at a time 😂

We had a local track like this but it had a nice bank on it. Perris Ca. They took it down, funny every park here has basketball courts, tennis courts, baseball fields, soccer fields, football fields but no RC tracks.

Kinda the same story where I live, there was an oval about a 30 minute drive from my house, it's long gone and is now a concrete skate park. Unfortunately this track is a 5 hour drive from where I live so don't get racing as much as I'd like to.
