I was actually giving that a lot of thought last year. The guy who did the 16 year old video did a brilliant job but there's a lot of inaccuracies with it which made me want to try to transcribe it myself. Not that I could probably play it better than him though...consider it on the to-do list.

How do you get your tone so close?

From your profile i see you're tone chasing Oingo stuff :D. I don't have the project files to hand, but I would be almost definite I used the Archetype Nolly amp sim and slightly tweaked version of the "These Days" preset in it. I had already been using it as the preset for my Gundam Wing videos months prior and I realised that the sound wasn't that far off. For this song though there was an element of just sitting and listening to try to dial in the tone as close as I could. The other thing to keep in mind here is I have the full song underlayed in this video so there is a blend of the actual guitar and mine that helps to get it to sound closer than it probably really is. If you want more in depth/definite info on the settings let me know and next time I go fetch something off the old PC I'll grab screenshots of the settings for you.

@@UnrealNumina Thank you. I have a gold Harley Benton sc guitar that looks similar to Steve’s and sounds good. I have a positive grid spark 40 that I use most of the time. I’m 15 and a freshman and high school. I was using amplitube because I was at my dads for the weekend, so I used his interface.

I know! That whole part from 0:30 onward has a fantastic groove and all the brass work is just 🤤. Its also the song that got me playing Wing songs in the first place. It definitely sticks out to me compared to the rest of the OST.
