I remember in 6th grade people told me I wasn't black enough to say the N word and that I act white, that's when I learned about how stereotypical some black people were

I mean, I’m not gonna lie. It’s really annoying when I grew up gothic, edgy. I was made fun of for it. Now I see the same type of urban youth wearing the same style of clothes and culture.please make it, make sense.

I feel that at least partially blaming rap is scratching a very suface level of the actual issue with the actual degradation of value for life in the community. It feels very similar to how about 10+ years ago everyone had that huge debate in the gaming community that video games supposedly make people more violent. Time and time again this was proven to be false. Very few people outside of the rap game itself are killing each other because of rap, instead rap is merely a direct refelection of the many deeper ingained issues. Just stopping rap isnt going to cure any of these issues. Changing what people say in rap isnt going to prevent any of these issues. Plenty of other genres have just as "degenerate" roots. Look at plenty of genres of metal. The core issue isnt rap.

You have to act as a stereotype in order to be "black" which is reductive and stupid given black history. Black people are scientists, writers, comic creators, musicians of all genres-- ultimately innovators and creatives and its crazy that doesn't click with the ones that wanna uphold stereotypes and act like black people as a whole have to only be ONE way.

As a white dude (technically 25% middle eastern but no one would ever know due to my brown hair and blue eyes) one my best freinds is black and he told me how he literally has to go into "hood mode" when dealing with certain family members and social groups. In reality hes a really well spoken, and smart dude whose on the straight and narrow.

Killer slugs..Then yell its part of the game. Survivors teabags...Killer mains : I AM GONNA CRY NOW
@QuietKills21 сағат бұрын
These are not comparable lol. Slugging serves an actual functional purpose (gaining pressure, maintaining pressure, etc). T-bagging is just instigation, typically done by individuals who are very aware already that they are in an advantageous position or have the upper-hand in some way. You’re basically attempting to compare an actual purpose-serving technique within the game to BMing lmaoooo. A better comparison would be comparing hitting somebody on hook over and over again to T-bagging. Also.. nobody even cried here??? I’m confused lol.

im white, but growing up it was pretty common knowledge that if you're gonna steal or break the law you better do it before you're 18 so you dont stay in prison. BUT when we got caught doing dumb shit by the cops, I was more scared of my parents finding out than spending the night in jail

Have you ever noticed how Asians don’t babble all the time about their skin colour? Or Indians? Or Mexicans? Or literally anyone else with exception of crazed liberals? Why is that? Whenever I watch a black content creator they won’t let you forget that in fact, they are a black person, every 60 seconds, why? Just f****** get over it, yeah you’re black and no one cares.
@raw_si_siht20 сағат бұрын
Exactly. Being black is the only interesting thing about them. which it really isn't, just tells me not to engage with that person. Patrice O'neal said it best "There's no individuality with black folk." All group think.
@dwannwilson1260Күн бұрын
I have mixed feelings about this topic-I agree with some points and disagree with others. Here’s my take: 1. Being “hood” or whatever isn’t what defines being Black. It’s not a requirement or part of Black identity. 2. If you’re Black and trying to change your hair texture to look straight or like someone of another race-and it’s not for cosplay or other creative reasons-then yes, it seems like you’re trying to imitate something you’re not. Just be yourself and embrace how God created you. 3. I agree that having a “Black card” still holds importance. It signals to others that you’re not a sellout, an agent, or an “op” against your own people. Unfortunately, we do see individuals who claim to represent the community but end up selling out or going against their own. At the end of the day, it’s about mindset. Many people with self-hating attitudes will hopefully grow out of it over time, but there’s still a small group that clings to those harmful ways. When I was growing up, it felt like all Black people were united, watching the same shows, and just being cool with each other. Now, it’s clear that some of y’all are “ops” or agents working against your own, and the self-hate is evident. So I wouldn’t have title this what you did
