A #35 chemical and heat resistant O ring can be acquired much cheaper from the O ring store online. I got 50. Enough to keep my 2 TitanLights running until I die. ZIPPO flints work well. Keep it clean and the parts replaced as needed and this thing will last forever

Coleman fluid is pretty much gasoline, not kerosene. Coleman actually sells these as gasoline lanterns. Naphtha however is more highly refined and doesn't have additives like the gas you put into a car. Kerosene is more oil based is is more similar to diesel.

Hey sweet video, not many like this. I was wondering have you ever changed your wick yet? I was wondering if a zippo wick would fit. Hoping I can use all my extra zippo stuff to outfit one of these and get it going again.
@Mountainbum18765 ай бұрын
Thank you. I have not replaced it yet. But if i did it would be with a zippo wick. Im assuming exotac made it to where you can use them and not need a special wick but you know how some companies are to make more money. Give it a try!

I came here looking for information on how to replace/repair the end button switch -- which has quit working on three of my (seldomly used) identical Monarch 500 flashlights. I have been unable to find replacement parts for this flashlight. Incidentally, the flashlight came with a woven black nylon lanyard, which is attached via a small split ring (also included), which easily fits through that hole you showed.

Use the tent stakes the other way around, concave section facing towards the tarp (strongest resistance to being pulled out) Your tarp should be more accessible and your ridge line set up is mind numbingly slow, these things could be the difference between life and death.

Thanks for the video I was looking to learn what size of Allen head was needed and you provided that nice and early. I put the Magpul pistol grip + on mine tonight what a difference it’s got a soft rubber texture way better grip and the beaver tail just fits and feels right. One thing I’d point out is in my instructions Magpul advised to not re use OEM screw and lock nut but to use theirs. If you look at the screw they provide with new grip it’s slightly coated with seal tight and is recommended over the previous grip unit. It does seat and seal better at least on mine. I’ve got the all black DB15 I must say I really like the look of your with FDE and black furniture. DB15s are so nice for the price! Cheers.

Pardon me, but was thinking about getting a dog's head k-bar knife, and was wondering how you got that stone-wash/patina finish on the blade? Thank you so much for your help !
@Mountainbum1876 Жыл бұрын
I sprayed Klean strip paint stripper on the blade and let it sit for a bit then wiped it off and got that stone washed finish to it.

If you make the fold and then iron it, it will hold its shape well for riveting or sewing. You could also sew the edges with heavy twine and a speedy stitcher sewing awl.

Colemam fuel is Naptha. Not kero OR car gas. SEAFOAM is also Naptha with thin oil added. Seafoam just makes smoke in this case

Use a file to round down the points of the side of the guard that you cut . That should help with the part that is still physically uncomfortable to you .

@robertocatrone7152 жыл бұрын
Time saver, get a Ka-Bar Dog head. Also, add #15 plumbing O-rings to the gaps in the handle, that will add a much better grip control as well as eliminating hot spots in the grip.

Blade is stripped, peep hole is drilled into the lower guard, top guard is ground off and rounded to match the handle, need to get the proper file to jimp the spine, spine is already 90 degrees so the fire stick is sparking well, ordering the tactical nylon sheath from Ka-Bar since this sheath feels like a cardboard box, spent two hours with my work sharp to put a razor sharp mirror edge on the blade, still need to fire up the belt grinder and take the clip point off for a drop point and and last was a sharpening choil. I think my 1211/1213 is coming along nicely. Keep at it man these knives are fun to modify.
