Thanks so much for watching and for the kind comment! I'm using the Alesis Nitro Mesh. I believe there's a newer version now, but I can definitely attest to its quality. I learned on acoustic drums over the years and this is my first electronic kit, but it's good stuff -- has a great feel and because I'm in a smaller living quarter, it's a good space saver and is nice to be able to have everything go through headphones to avoid annoying neighbours. :) Hope this helps with your decision!

How the heck did I miss this?! Plush remains my favorite STP with Scott song. A station in LA plays it with some frequency, so I put up the windows, crank it and sing loudly. I don't know why and after hearing it so many times, it chokes me up thinking about how great of singer Scott was. Good thing I usually have on sunglasses. 😢

I was just reading forum posts of people complains about this album. I have never actually listened to the whole thing, but this tune is awesome. The drums do sound really nice! There were moments where I forgot I was listening to a drum cover.

Thanks, man, very kind of you! I'm so impressed with the Nitro Mesh -- even the stock sounds are lovely. I haven't messed with using too many kits on the interface because I'm happy with the main one. Appreciate the note! This is an excellent song, agreed. And I used to avoid the album, but it grew on me a lot over the years and now it's my fave STP, with Purple being a close second. It feels like one of those albums that has little echoes of similar themes throughout. It's just so cohesive and really solidified the band's range.

Awesome song to practice some timings on. Drums sounded tops, can be hard getting some electric kits set up with good expression and no false triggers, but your snare works well. 😉👍
@blinddog12127 ай бұрын
Thanks a bunch for watching and for these kind words! I agree, this and a lot of STP's catalogue is great for timing/deep in the pocket grooves. I definitely feared the e-kit feeling a bit too synthetic, but I must say I'm impressed with the Nitro Mesh, both in terms of feel during playing and the recorded output (I keep it pretty basic with just a standard direct connection through a UX1). Appreciate the feedback, thanks again!

Very nice job! Sound quality is good too. What are you using to record the mix? Just plugged straight into a laptop?
@blinddog12128 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for the kind words! In terms of the setup, i'm line-out from the Nitro Mesh kit into my UX1 interface's instrument port and I just use stock/direct amp settings. For editing/rendering, i use OpenShot and tweak the levels slightly to make sure original mix and my cover are balanced well.

@blinddog12129 ай бұрын
Thanks a lot for the comment! I agree, excellent song. Tabs are not looking overly accurate from what I see. I mostly learned by ear, but I had a quick watch of this Rocksmith video and it gives a good visual tutorial: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKfTaXennrmrpbs. You might have to slow parts down while you're practicing. HTH!

From their beginning up through their last album. Of course, I am with the masses (or as the lyrics would say, the hive) and can't stop watching the Drive video. 😁
