I forgot to mention, I've got broken ribs on both sides & they caused small punctures in both lungs. They're healing well, but it's still very sore. So when I'm tired I can't toss out those run on sentences without taking extra breaths as I go.

If you add shredded toilet paper to recipe number 2 i think you can achieve similar results to 1 because the pulp helps it avoid shrinking and cracking

Keep in mind, school glues have a much higher water content then wood glue so you will get less shrinkage. You also get a stronger clay with the wood glue. Nivea also has less water then hand or body lotions. Anything with a high water content is going to have a higher chance of cracking.

Just wondering, have you ever done an experiment on none cooked recipes? And if so how diffrent did they turn out ? From the cooked ones ? Sorry but am new to this, Have just maid a recipes of cornstarch, pva glue, and essential oil, none cooked, Ime going to see how this will except colour, and how translucent it will become, or if it drys well or cracks ect, if its a failure, I will cook it and see, if that makes a difference 😬 if that fails , I will stick to the original recipe of Cornstarch, pva glue, mineral oil and white viniger cooked,!! Only using cold cream for my hands!! If your wondering abought the essential oil ,well I wanted my flowers I plan on making, to smell like flowers!! Lol Absolutely loved this tutorial, thank you 🕊💕🙏

I used a little less than a cup of glue, to a cup of corn starch, a couple tablespoons of glycerin a couple tablespoons of baby oil and a tablespoon of white vinegar… as I knead it, I keep my hands coated in lotion and use a little corn starch as I knead it… it starts out sticky but the longer you knead it the less sticky it becomes… before I put it in a bag to keep, I coat it with lotion…. I love this stuff…

@joycebrandon
@joycebrandon 3 жыл бұрын
They are fainter in this video than they are in person, however the lines on the canvas are meant to be light. You don't want to have bold, dark lines like a coloring book image, just faint guidelines. That way they don't show through light paint colors & you don't have to worry about staining or bleed through.

There's another that only takes the glue and the corn starch and craft paint to color. Doesnt require baking or anything but kneading it.. and oiling your mold if your using a mold.

Very helpful and concise. I tried using pure oils on the underside but it really didn’t work for me so I think pastels would be better. I’m going to try graphite under my tracing paper first but I think I will also have to be careful not to press down too hard. Thank you.

I am new to this type of crafting. Once you complete your little puppy or rabbit and air dry it, do you then bake it in the oven as a final or perminent step?? Or.... once item is air dried, your done?? Thanks so much for sharing. Your work and experimentation is incredable. Best wishes.... Ax

As we don't measure in cups and spoons...😊 What stands the "T" for in the receipe? Table Spoon or Tea Spoon? Glycerine is normaly available in drugstores, shops wich sell liquids for e-cigarettes and even on Amazon. Greets from Germany

I use cold porcelain to make life-like clay flowers for sale/gifts. My recipe uses Aleene's Tacky Glue (original), mineral oil, cornstarch and white vinegar. The vinegar is used to prevent molding of the moist clay. The mineral oil gives somewhat longer a working time. It does shrink in creation of the flowers, but does not crack and split at all, though I do not make thick items often...yet, the lotus buds and lily buds I've made have not cracked, and they are about the size of your item, though they are only on floral wire, so nothing large beneath them. Cold porcelain may be done in layers also...it helps control the amount of shrinkage by building it up as you go. Blessings!
