I think a better way to indicate that you don’t think your ideas are infallible might be to say “I look forward to hearing your input on my theories at the end of the presentation, we have so many great minds here” (or during). Or if you’re a beginner, you could say “I’m really looking forward to making my first thesis presentation, thank you for coming.” Sometimes the fact that you are a beginner is important information! It’s going to change the context of how people interact with you. But approaching it with actual humility and a spirit of collaboration and not self-effacing statements is much more effective and likeable. Genuinely reaching out for mentorship and guidance can be a great thing, but you still want people to take you seriously. Plus degrading yourself just makes people uncomfortable, it puts the onus on them to comfort you or deny what you said. People don’t like it.

Seen a lot of this single narrative on network news sites: They even pick up the same verbage and descriptors; the talking points are all the same. Shutting down all opposition. Yeah seen this on social sites. Surprised how little the media cover current scandals, even those that are larger than Watergate.

I don't want to be a sheeple! It's so important to have an opinion of your own, that's so true. Groupthink is so real though, I remember from studying psychology how powerful it is. Studies are mindblowing how you can change someone's mind, only because of groupthink.

@RAyR111Ай бұрын
@SuccessisTheGoal Depends what kind of people you surround yourself with.... but for the majority I think not..because a lot of people are quite forceful with their views.😅 I would love it if it were common sense, cause its literally a waste of time to pour your heart out on a topic you care about to someone that doesn't care about broadening their perspectives.The way you worded this lesson (I suppose) was very articulate yet simple, which is why I loved it! And definetely will be using the "That is not something I care to discuss with you" line.🤚 🤣
