Hey, which fishing video are we talking about?
@SylvainFluet20 күн бұрын
Hi from Québec ! thanks for the review , I'm looking for a used Excalibur crossbow to replace my PSE Fang . I just have to replace the string on my PSE and it cost me 160$cad ...That was the last time I am scam like this. I have found a Matrix 380 used with a hard shell case for 500$cad, a good deal I think . Your video convinced me to go for it . I'm just wondering how large are the limbs uncocked ? Thanks in advance !
@GIOUTDOORS18 күн бұрын
Hey, that is definitely a crazy price for a string! What nice of all recurve type crossbows like excalibur is that you can change the string at home in a couple of minutes. The only thing about the 380 is that it's very big compared to the micro series and the newer ones. So if ever take that into consideration because if you hunt in a closed blind it will be a pain for how wide it is. The crossbows limbs when not cooked are 30.5 inch. Hope this helps and Goodluck if you go out hunting.
@SylvainFluet18 күн бұрын
@@GIOUTDOORS Thank you so much for the tip, I think I will get the 380 Micro instead, brand new, very light and compact. When you get some dealer packages (like Cabelas Canada or Sail), they add a crank for 1399$CAD. With my shoulder getting PITA as I get older, that would be a big upgrade. I will wait for the Black Friday sales. (btw, you have a hell of a bar ! nice setup !)
@GIOUTDOORS18 күн бұрын
I think it's the right choice and you won't regret it! Having a crank is a life changer. Black Friday is a great time to look for a deal. Keep us posted when you get it and how it shoots. Thanks. I've been collecting bottles for many years now lol

@GIOUTDOORSАй бұрын
Over the years we've noticed that carrots work better than apples. But apples do also work great at attracting deer. What we like about carrots is that they don't rot as fast as apples.

What I do know about the way gars strike is based on having had one, as a kid, that I kept in an aquarium. I think the best way to catch gar would be to have the setup like you have, with the exact same rig, but what the fish do is they have to see your bait, in their peripheral vision, then, after they inspect it, what they do is attack sideways, due to where are their eyes are located, on their heads.
@mattramzzzАй бұрын
I had only seen them, in the wild, in Florida. I had no idea they were located anywhere near as North as Montreal.
@mattramzzzАй бұрын
I did the research and found out that they are located in at least, Lake Champlain, in Vermont / New York.

All the time. It can be really frustrating at times because some people don't respect others. We hunt the winds and try everything not to make the deer know we are there..Then you get these guys leaving scent and making all kinds of noise educating the deer.. Hey, glad you guys enjoy our videos and tell your son we say hi. We recommend using .5 to 1oz weight. We also like to put the weight on the bottom instead of on top so if ever it gets stuck the weight brakes off and you don't loose all your setup. We like to tie the two hooks above the weights directly to the line.(check out our next video we show our setup) Hope this helps and Goodluck on your next fishing adventure!

Thank you so much for this video. In the past week I’ve mounted 7 skull mounts and 8 skull cap mounts. The skull cap project, I did it exactly as you demonstrated in your video. Your method worked perfectly. I used picture hanging wire, because I didn’t have access to brass wire. I love how my project turned out. I wish I could show you a picture. I had about 3 skull caps that were too heavy. I started to add another wire, but I drilled a tiny hole in each and tacked it down with a short nail. That did the trick.
