Wow, this is eye opening. We have been so unrealistic expecting much from nannies when psychologically they missed out. True there background informs their behavior. Thanks so much.

when Kitt said 'I don't like kids ' I did a double-take and had to pause😂😂. Awesome video and content, I've learnt quite a lot - 'teach your audience and brands know you're there ' are my key takeaways. I loved the energy from both of you, thank you for sharing this with us💜.

It's tricky to talk of the minimum wage coz some of us pay as per our earnings .I'd love to pay like 15k but am not in a position to
@annawanjiru2202 жыл бұрын

I'm alive at a time when we're profiling nannies, adding instability to that sentence. At a time when a professional (as she's called) who runs a bureau doesn't know the minimum wage requirement for these workers. Alafu, ata wale Kadama wa uarabuni, ata wao ni from unstable backgrounds?
@annawanjiru2202 жыл бұрын
You are also alive at a time you can make a difference, by being aware of the needs they do have and using your energy to come up with solutions on how they can be elevated

This is so insightful Anna.I did not know how much calories the body needs even without exercise.I will be sure to make the necessary changes.

Interesting conversation, I think the bulk of managing expectations lies with the employer. Anyone who is in a position of strength in anything should extend patience to the one who is not. We cannot treat nanny/help like we would treat anyone employed outside of the home. These people are coming into our homes, our sanctuaries, the place where you are YOU when you leave the outside world. Kindness should be the first thing they experience when they come into our homes. By week two as an employer, you should have been able to tell if it's someone you can gel with or maybe even give it a month. After that please release them if they don't meet your needs. really this would alleviate a lot of the bad things that go on in the homes. Find you someone who meets your needs instead of harassing or mistreating nannies. These people stay with your kids! if you are a wise woman then you will ensure you treat these people with utmost kindness and patience because it is reciprocated. The one virtue in the world that is understood by everyone whether they've never been to school or faced trauma is kindness. Last thing no one can work endless hours even at the office you get a break. Allow them to get their rest by retiring early to bed. Can't expect someone to go to bed at 11 and wake up at 4. Lastly😀, Kenyan women let's learn that nannies are only there to help and not replace us. We should be the ones to deal with the good, the bad, the ugly of our children. Don't pass them on to our nannies to deal with the crying and put them to bed unless, of course, you're not home. Come up with a manageable schedule for them, it really helps to know daily expectations.

One has to be careful with self proclaimed ‘health wellness influencers’ It would be prudent to get your health information from professional sources. Some of the discussion here is not accurate/valid and is clearly a googled scenario without understanding. Please be careful on these internet streets. Good thing she gives the disclaimer herself.
