The Monster Fairing quality is pretty good if I must say. I put a custom set on my Ninja 400 and they turned out amazing.

Yeah, they are good quality and it seems like they all come from a parent manufacture ZXMT their customer service was a little sketch, but the paint job came out amazing. I have tried amotorpart and that’s why my next set will be at aMotopart set cause the customer service was a lot better and the Fairings came out just as good.

First of all congratulations on this rebuild project, you really know what you are doing. I'm also thinking about starting a project like yours. In my case its a cbr 650r that had a frontal collision. However, I'm worried the frame might be bented. The fork seems to do full travel and does not appear to be bent, but the front rim is cracked and the tire blown . Do you have a easy way to detect any bent in the frame?
@mendingmotos22 күн бұрын
Hey thanks !! Sadly I think the forks are probably bent, if you have a cracked rim. It’s hard to see the bend until you get them off the bike and then it’s very visible but fingers crossed lol ask for the from you will see stress cracks in the paint and or metal near the stem. But sometime you get lucky and the forks and triple tree absorb the impact and keep the frame safe. Remember to check your stem bearings as well as the bottom triple like in had to do on mine. Good luck with the rebuild !!

hey what your thought on this constand?
@mendingmotosАй бұрын
It’s been a game changer. It takes up way less space than two pitbull stands. The only downside to it is you can’t access the front sprocket, but I love being able to move the bike around wherever I want and and you can do work on the Triple tree and your front bearing you can’t do that with a triple tree stand from pitbull the price is pretty good. It’s actually cheaper than two pitbull stands only issue I’ve had so far is one of the caster wheels is made of plastic then it’s coated with a strip of rubber. The little strip of rubber is kind of coming off, but it still rolls fine.
@sanjv1120Ай бұрын

Hi There, you did an awesome job of rebuilding the bike. I'm curious about the sound which was heard during the first start at 21:33. Would you please share your thoughts, how was it addressed? Also I own a tiger 800 XR and I feel a slight rumble in clutch side area when the clutch lever is Not pulled in. It goes away when clutch level is pulled in. Its more prominent when the engine is cold but is less noticeable when the engine warms up. Also it feels like a slight vibration near 2.5k & 3K RPM at which I feel the rumble more and it disappears in higher RPM. Do you've any suggestions on what could be wrong? Thanks in advance :)
@mendingmotosАй бұрын
Yeah, that was the first start in the motor and it was twofold that was adding to the sound. One oil had not gotten through the system so things weren’t fully lubricated so it was quite loud, but also also the hydraulic chain tensioner had intentioned up so not only was somewhat dry metal parts, and loose chain tensioner. But when you hear it running later, it’s much smoother, that was just the first start up and my camera died right then I actually started up again and you can hear the tone change from a loud cranky sound to very smooth triple sound.
@mendingmotosАй бұрын
To answer your question, it could be a couple things. It could be one. You’re running a thicker oil than you need to or two your clutch springs have been set to tight so there’s a little bit of extra drag. Even when you are in neutral. But having a thicker oil can make things idle just a tiny tiny bit rougher as well especially when the engines cold that’s my only guesses..

I’m rebuilding a K7 and trying to understand what parts go in the subframe/tail. Did you delete the servo and evapo system? If so what did you do?
@mendingmotosАй бұрын
when I got the bike, the servo motor and the valve from the exhaust had already been deleted. It’s a pretty straightforward process of just unbolting things and unhooking cables. There should be plenty of KZbin videos on it. Hope that helps.
@Highway9mmАй бұрын
@ thanks man! My bike’s destroyed from tank to tail and I’m trying to piece meal eBay parts with the remnants. Your videos are motivational and more helpful than the Hayes book. Btw what did you replace and what chemical were you using when you cleaned out the fuel pump?
@mendingmotosАй бұрын
@@Highway9mm wow thanks after replacing the fuel pump and all the rubber hoses that came with that kit I flushed out the main filter with brake cleaner and contact cleaner and/or carb cleaner and flushed it with a bit of fuel. Also, I use carb cleaner and some stiff brushes to get all the varnished gunk out of the fuel pump housing as well. There is one thing on your side this Bikes parts are so cheap and pretty easy to find on eBay and/or Facebook marketplace from people parting out other Bikes don’t forget to join the GSX forum. You can also find some good deals on there for parts.
