I was at this game, my third year at UVa. Packed like sardines in the student section. One of the best sporting events I've ever attended, even though we lost. Then the wheels came off of UVa's season.

In my top-10 of favorite experiences as a fan. WVU fans were so cocky, thought they'd been robbed of the Gator Bowl. Then we curb-stomped them. Hard to argue it wasn't Musgrave's best game calling at UVa.

I remember this game. I was just a kid living in Charlottesville. There was a major scandel with the "pep" band for UVA. At half time during this game, the pep band mocked West Virginian's as being hill billys. Alot of offended people in west Virginia after that. Insulted AND they lost.

Fun Fact: Virginia & Army Are the only programs who made their first bowl game appearance since WWII to win in their inaugural bowl appearance. Ironically, the Cadets would make their first bowl appearance the following year, in the Cherry Bowl in the Pontiac Sliverdome, defeating Michigan State, 10-6.
